JOB OVERVIEW

1. Role Overview & Hybrid Philosophy

aCommerce is seeking a high-caliber Forward Deployed Growth Engineer / Technical Growth Consultant (formally designated as Marketing Data & Insights Manager). In today's enterprise e-commerce landscape, this hybrid role bridges the traditional gap between "the strategic consultant who talks to the business" and "the data engineer who writes the backend code." By occupying both spaces, this single individual eliminates communication silos, ensures data strategies directly impact client unit economics and GMV growth, and dramatically accelerates time-to-value.

Core Value Proposition of the Hybrid FDE Role:

Zero Translation Loss: Eliminates the friction where marketing consultants request metrics engineering cannot build, or engineers construct pipelines marketers cannot use.

Speed to Value: Cuts the time to go from enterprise client business goals to live, revenue-generating data models and campaign optimizations in half.

Hyper-Practical Roadmaps: Designs data-driven growth strategies grounded in exact platform API mechanics and backend data infrastructure realities.

2. The 5-Stage End-to-End Operating Pipeline

Rather than handing off requirements across disjointed desks, the Forward Deployed Growth Engineer acts as the ultimate architect of the client's data-to-revenue pipeline, executing across five integrated stages:

1. Client Growth Goal

Core Mandate & Function: Sits down with enterprise executives to identify revenue blockers, high churn, and unit economic gaps.

Key Deliverables & Action Items: Growth Diagnostic Briefs, LTV & Repeat Purchase Targets.

2. Strategic Roadmap

Core Mandate & Function: Translates high-level growth objectives into a structured e-commerce data strategy across full marketing funnel stages.

Key Deliverables & Action Items: Multi-channel Go-to-Market Roadmaps, Live, Affiliate, Content or Media Reallocation Plans.

3. Data Requirements

Core Mandate & Function: Translates commercial requirements into exact technical schemas for data teams (clickstream, CRM, ads, livestreaming).

Key Deliverables & Action Items: Data Schema Specs, API Event Mapping, Metric Definitions.

4. Pipeline Handoff

Core Mandate & Function: Partners fluently with backend engineers and PMs to guide data transformations and pipeline builds.

Key Deliverables & Action Items: Technical Pipeline Specs, ETL/ELT Logic Specs, QA Validation.

5. Revenue Optimization

Core Mandate & Function: Analyzes delivered datasets, extracts cross-funnel insights, and executes optimization roadmaps to directly drive client GMV.

Key Deliverables & Action Items: Executive MBR/QBR Dashboards, Automated Lifecycle Workflows, ROAS Models. Predictive model and tool.

3. Key Responsibilities & Dual-Phase Mandate

Phase 1: Internal First-Party Data Unification & Standardization

Organize, standardize, and unify aCommerce's internal first-party marketing data across Southeast Asia (Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore) into a centralized, proprietary intelligence asset.

Internal Data Unification: Consolidate marketing data across upper-, mid-, and lower-funnel channels (paid performance media, live streaming, creator affiliate marketing, and marketplace search) into unified data models.

Standardized MBR/QBR Frameworks: Architect standard reporting structures and KPI frameworks for monthly and quarterly business reviews across all five regional markets, establishing a central Regional Intelligence Hub.

Cross-Functional Coordination: Partner with internal business units (Paid Performance, Creative, Communication Planning, Live Streaming) to ensure standardized metric definitions and reliable data feed inputs.

Phase 2: Client-Facing Enterprise Intelligence & Growth Architecture

Replicate internal data models for top regional brand clients, architecting custom marketing data pipelines and delivering executive-level growth consulting.

Enterprise Client Engagement: Join key enterprise client sessions as both strategic consultant and technical implementer, discovering growth blockers and co-designing client data architectures.

Technical Pipeline Specification: Author precise, developer-ready data requirements and schemas for backend engineers and project managers, ensuring zero translation loss.

Client Workshops & BD Support: Design and conduct interactive marketing data strategy workshops for key accounts, partnering with Business Development (BD) to build data-led pitch proposals that win new business.

Decision-Ready Executive Reporting: Deliver clear, executive-level MBRs and QBRs that translate complex multi-channel analytics into tangible commercial actions, marketing activities mix reallocations, and improve KPIs.

Scope Delineation: Marketing Data vs. Trade Marketing

To ensure absolute focus, this role specializes exclusively in Marketing Intelligence (media spend, live streaming, video content, GMV, creator affiliate ROI, customer acquisition cost, ROAS, and customer lifetime value). While coordinating shared dashboards with Trade Marketing & Merchandising (product bundling, price points, digital shelf planograms), trade operations remain under a separate focus area.

4. Qualifications & The 'Unicorn' Profile

The ideal candidate possesses a rare hybrid profile combining hands-on technical analytics with executive-level commercial strategy across Southeast Asian e-commerce platforms.

Technical & Analytical Competencies

Bachelor's/Master's degree in Business, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field.

3+ years of experience in marketing data analytics, technical growth consulting, or forward deployed engineering.

Hands-on proficiency in SQL, Excel/Python, and BI platforms (Power BI, Tableau, Looker Studio).

Understanding of data warehouse schemas, API event mapping, clickstream tracking, and ETL/ELT pipeline specs.

Ability to translate commercial goals into precise, developer-ready technical requirements.

Commercial Strategy & Client Mastery

Deep understanding of Southeast Asian e-commerce platforms (Shopee, Lazada, TikTok Shop) and platform ad tools.

Proven track record presenting to regional enterprise client executives (MBRs, QBRs, pitches).

Fluency in full-funnel marketing metrics (ROAS, CAC, LTV, Livestream GMV, Creator Affiliate ROI).

Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, bridging business units, PMs, developers, and client leads.

Business fluency in English; regional language capability (Thai, Bahasa, Vietnamese) is a plus.
