Overview

The Manager, Procurement, leads strategic sourcing, category management, and supplier relationship activities to ensure the reliable and cost-effective supply of materials and services that support business objectives. This role is responsible for driving supplier performance, cost savings, inventory optimization, risk mitigation, and on-time delivery across assigned categories. The position partners with cross-functional stakeholders to support production, new product development, and overall supply chain performance while addressing supply disruptions and business needs. The Manager, Procurement develops and executes sourcing strategies, ensures procurement best practices are followed, and leverages data-driven insights to improve results. This role also leads, coaches, and develops procurement team members in Nivelles and Bisscheim, establishes performance metrics, and drives continuous improvement initiatives that support operational excellence and business growth. This role required travelling to Bisscheim 50% of the time or as needed. Occasional travels

Primary responsibilities include:

• •Achieve cost-savings, on-time delivery, quality performance, and inventory objectives.
• •Lead category management activities, including spend analysis, supplier scorecards, benchmarking, should-cost analysis, resourcing, value engineering, supplier capacity planning, and new-supplier qualification.
• •Support new product development initiatives.
• •Guide teams in responding to and resolving unanticipated customer expedite requests, quality issues, extended raw-material lead times, material availability constraints, and other supply disruptions to ensure successful customer delivery.
• •Provide management with regular updates on the efficient flow of goods and services that affect service delivery or production.
• •Ensure central category teams adopt established commercial and procurement practices, policies, and processes.
• •Develop risk-management procedures that mitigate losses arising from supply shortages.
• •Partner with TDW stakeholders to build the demand pipeline, capture and appropriately challenge business requirements, and provide feedback on compliance.
• •Strengthen team capabilities in strategic sourcing, supplier management, inventory management, and data analysis.
• •Develop, track, and report departmental key performance indicators (KPIs), including year-over-year results.
• •Set individual objectives; provide fair, constructive feedback; assess employee performance, training needs, development areas, and growth potential; and ensure identified training and development needs are addressed.

Experience

• •Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business management, engineering, or a related field; MBA preferred.
• •7-10 years of demonstrated experience managing supply chain operations, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• •2-5 years of leadership experience.
• •Preferred professional certification in supply chain, procurement, or purchasing, such as ASCM CSCP, CPIM, ISM CPSM, CIPS, or equivalent.
• •Lean Six Sigma experience preferred; Green Belt certification is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• •Knowledge of and experience with direct manufacturing categories—such as machining, metal fabrication, metal forging, and rubber molding—preferred.
• •Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• •Experience with manufacturing ERP systems; experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX or Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a plus.
• •Knowledge of contract interpretation and development, including the ability to determine the appropriate level of documentation based on spend and situational risk.
• •Advanced knowledge of strategic sourcing and procurement techniques, with the ability to interpret market conditions.
• •Excellent leadership skills.
• •Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• •Ability to analyze key performance indicators and translate results into actionable insights.
• •Ability to influence senior stakeholders in complex environments.
• •English-language proficiency required.
• •This role required travelling to Bisscheim (France) 50% of the working time or as needed. Occasional travels outside Europe (US, India) 4 times a year.
