- Overview:
- The Merchant Cloud Gateway Core Processing regional product management team sits at the center of payments innovation, enabling seamless, scalable, and secure customer experiences through Mastercard Merchant Cloud’s connected capabilities. The team is responsible for shaping the regional strategy and driving execution for market-leading acceptance products that support customer growth, operational efficiency, and evolving market requirements.
- The Product Manager will play a key role in advancing the Gateway Core Processing portfolio across Domestic and International Payment Rails, Alternative Payment Rails, Card Present capabilities, scheme compliance, and other strategic focus areas. Working closely with Global and Regional Product Directors, market teams, and functional partners, this role will translate market needs into commercially relevant, scalable solutions that strengthen Mastercard’s local and regional payment offerings across priority markets.
- Product Managers in Mastercard Merchant Cloud – Gateway Core Processing are expected to:
- Translate a deep understanding of customer needs, market dynamics, and payment ecosystem trends into products and solutions that deliver measurable customer and business value.
- Balance long-term product vision with near-term delivery priorities, technical constraints, competitive considerations, and commercial opportunities.
- Act as a strong connector across Sales, Marketing, Technology, Delivery, and regional teams to ensure products are positioned, built, launched, and scaled effectively.
- Develop globally relevant and regionally adaptable solutions by assessing market requirements, customer segments, technology dependencies, and portfolio trade-offs.
- Set clear product direction in close coordination with cross-functional stakeholders, ensuring alignment across connected gateway capabilities and broader customer needs.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Own roadmap development, prioritization, and execution for defined focus areas, ensuring alignment with EEMEA and global strategic objectives.
- Prioritize product development initiatives in line with Gateway Core Processing strategy, customer demand, commercial opportunity, and delivery readiness.
- Design and conduct user and market research, including customer interviews, to identify pain points, motivations, unmet needs, and growth opportunities.
- Ensure consistent alignment between business priorities, customer outcomes, product requirements, and technology delivery objectives.
- Oversee the creation of clear, high-quality technical and business requirements to support effective execution and delivery.
- Drive go-to-market planning, commercialization, and adoption of new and enhanced Core Processing products and capabilities.
- Build trusted working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including regional teams, customers, technology partners, commercial teams, and delivery functions, to achieve product objectives and ensure successful market execution.
- All About You:
- Proven experience in agile product management, ideally within payments, financial services, technology, or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of payment products, gateway services, processing platforms, or financial technology solutions is preferred.
- Analytical, structured, and solutions-oriented mindset, with the ability to develop insight-led recommendations and drive thought leadership.
- Experience designing, executing, and synthesizing user research to improve customer value, user experience, product adoption, and long-term engagement.
- Strong awareness of competitive offerings, customer expectations, regulatory considerations, and industry trends, with the ability to translate insights into actionable product decisions.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products, capabilities, and customer outcomes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to engage confidently with customers, senior stakeholders, and cross-functional partners.
- Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, navigate ambiguity, and deliver outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
- Working knowledge of product management practices and tools, including market assessments, product plans, roadmaps, business cases, pricing inputs, timelines, and research outputs.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Technical background, such as Computer Science or a related discipline, is advantageous.
- Advanced degree or relevant professional certification is preferred but not required.
