Job Description:

The Opportunity

As the PMO Functional Lead, you will manage governance, performance management, forecasting, operational reporting, and continuous improvement activities across the NAM BU Service Project Management Organization. In this role, you will provide functional oversight for Project Management and Order Handling processes, driving standardization, operational consistency, and business performance through cross-functional collaboration and influence. You will oversee performance reporting, backlog governance, forecasting processes, and executive-level business insights while supporting planning and fulfillment coordination across Field Service, Shop Operations, Spare Parts, Supply Chain, and Sales. By delivering trusted data, actionable insights, and structured governance, you will help improve forecast reliability, backlog conversion, project execution, and overall operational performance while supporting informed business planning and strategic actions.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Provide functional oversight for Project Management and Order Handling by establishing governance, best practices, and performance expectations.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment and operational excellence through collaboration, influence, and process ownership.
  • Own PMO performance reporting, including backlog health, forecast accuracy, project execution, risk management, and operational metrics.
  • Develop executive dashboards and reporting that provide visibility into forecast confidence, revenue opportunities, business risks, and performance trends.
  • Establish and maintain a standardized backlog review process across NAM.
  • Identify and escalate constraints affecting backlog conversion, including material availability, resource capacity, customer delays, and engineering dependencies.
  • Coordinate Planning and Fulfillment activities across Field Service, Shop Operations, Spare Parts, Supply Chain, and Sales to improve forecast accuracy and operational predictability.
  • Run continuous improvement initiatives focused on process simplification, operational efficiency, forecasting, backlog management, and project execution.
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your Background

  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in project management, program management, operations, or business performance leadership.
  • Experience managing cross-functional initiatives and improving organizational performance through influence rather than direct authority; experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP, in a manufacturing and service environment; proficiency with project management methodologies, business intelligence tools, and performance reporting; experience with SIOP, planning processes, and operational performance management preferred; PMP, CSM, or similar advanced project management certification preferred.
  • Able capabilities in translating complex data into actionable business insights and executive recommendations, including experience using AI-enabled tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Power BI AI capabilities, and related business productivity solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all organizational levels and connect operational performance, financial results, and business priorities.
