Every person who turns to Mission Australia deserves to receive safe, high-quality support that creates lasting change. As our new Manager, Quality and Safety Assurance, you will play a critical role in ensuring the systems, governance and standards behind our services are as strong as the outcomes we strive to achieve. Leading a national team, you will strengthen quality assurance, clinical and care governance, and continuous improvement across a diverse portfolio of community services, helping ensure the voices of people with lived experience shape how we deliver support. This is an opportunity to influence practice at an organisational level, fostering a culture of accountability, learning and excellence so that together, we can continue building hope and possibility for all.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Develop and lead a high-performing Quality and Safety Assurance team, providing coaching, guidance and values-based leadership to achieve organisational objectives.
  • Oversee Mission Australia’s Clinical and Care Governance Framework and quality assurance framework, ensuring service delivery standards are aligned with legislative, regulatory, accreditation and organisational requirements.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement by analysing quality and safety trends, identifying opportunities for improvement and partnering with service delivery leaders to strengthen practice outcomes.
  • Lead the implementation and ongoing oversight of clinical and care governance frameworks to support safe, effective and high-quality service delivery across the organisation.
  • Provide strategic advice and assurance reporting to senior leaders, governance committees and the Board on quality, safety, compliance and emerging risks.
  • Develop, review and maintain national operational policies, procedures and practice frameworks that support consistent, evidence-informed service delivery.
  • Monitor changes in legislation, regulatory standards and accreditation requirements, leading organisation-wide responses to ensure ongoing compliance and best practice.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including people with lived experience, to strengthen governance, accountability and service excellence.

Requirements for success

  • Tertiary qualifications in a clinical setting such as Social Work, Psychology, Nursing, Allied Health Mental Health, Aged Care or a related discipline; and ideally additional qualifications/certification in quality auditing and clinical governance
  • Extensive experience leading quality assurance, clinical governance, risk, compliance or continuous improvement functions within complex human services environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, implement and oversee quality, safety and governance frameworks that strengthen service delivery outcomes.
  • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to build, mentor and inspire high-performing teams through values-based leadership
  • Demonstrated experience in leading change across complex organisations.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory, accreditation and compliance requirements across community services, including clinical and non-clinical service settings.
  • Experience developing organisational policies, practice frameworks and quality improvement initiatives that drive consistency, accountability and excellence.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data, identify emerging risks and provide strategic recommendations.
  • Highly developed stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across all levels of an organisation and with external partners.

Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
