Work Flexibility: Hybrid

  • Main objective /purpose of the role:
  • The Manager, Revenue Accounting will play an instrumental role in shaping and operationalizing the Revenue Center of Excellence (COE) for the APAC region. The role will support the execution and continued development of the COE structure and framework, with the objective of centralizing revenue-related expertise, driving process standardization, and enabling scalability across APAC.

The role will independently manage assigned regional workstreams and provide revenue accounting support across complex and non-standard sales arrangements, contract reviews, accounting assessments, and annual accounting methodology and estimates reviews. The Manager will partner with Local Finance, the Shared Service Centre, Commercial, Legal, Compliance, and Corporate Technical Accounting to translate US GAAP and company revenue policies into practical execution. The role will provide recommendations on accounting matters, coordinate cross-functional resolution of issues, strengthen regional governance and controls, and escalate significant or precedent-setting matters to key stakeholders.

As the Revenue COE continues to expand its coverage across APAC, this role will play a key part in driving consistent revenue accounting practices, strengthening regional governance, and standardizing processes in APAC. The Manager will work closely with local and regional stakeholders to address complex accounting matters and support the continued development and scalability of the COE.

What you will do:

  • Drive Revenue COE Expansion and Operating Model Development: Support the expansion of Revenue COE coverage across APAC, coordinate responsibilities and handoffs between the COE, Local Finance, and Shared Service Centre, and help establish scalable and consistent ways of working across markets.
  • Provide Technical Revenue Accounting Guidance: Assess complex and non-standard revenue accounting matters, interpret US GAAP and company revenue policies, and provide practical recommendations on accounting treatments, risks, and appropriate resolutions.
  • Lead Contract Reviews and Accounting Assessments: Review significant and judgmental sales arrangements and contracts, evaluate revenue recognition implications, document accounting conclusions, and coordinate with relevant stakeholders to resolve complex accounting issues.
  • Support Revenue Accounting Methodology and Estimates: Coordinate periodic reviews of key revenue accounting judgments and estimates. Recommend appropriate accounting methodologies and improvements where needed.
  • Drive Process Improvement and Standardization: Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and improve revenue accounting processes, documentation, and workflows across APAC countries. Lead initiatives to enhance efficiency, consistency, scalability, and audit readiness.
  • Strengthen Governance and Internal Controls: Support the consistent application of accounting policies and internal controls across the region, identify potential control gaps, and recommend improvements to strengthen governance and compliance.
  • Partner with Regional and Cross-Functional Stakeholders: Collaborate closely with teams to address accounting issues and align on practical solutions. Escalate significant or precedent-setting matters to Corporate Technical Accounting and senior stakeholders as appropriate.

  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in accounting, audit, controllership, or a related finance function, with substantial hands-on revenue accounting experience.
  • Prior Big Four experience in audit or a relevant accounting practice.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, with demonstrated experience applying accounting principles to revenue recognition and complex accounting matters.
  • Strong technical accounting foundation and the ability to independently assess judgmental, complex, and non-standard transactions.
