Position Overview
The Risk and Insurance Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the Company's enterprise risk management programs and assisting with the administration of insurance programs across FEG’s sports operations and entertainment venues. This role ensures the Company effectively identifies, assesses, mitigates, and finances risk while protecting organizational assets, guests, employees, athletes, performers, and business partners.
The Risk and Insurance Manager position oversees all claims management, contractual risk transfer, loss prevention and safety initiatives, and compliance activities. This position also participates in the procurement, renewals and management of all forms of insurance for FEG.
The Risk and Insurance Manager serves as a strategic business partner to Operations, Legal, Finance, Security, Facilities, and People and Culture.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Enterprise Risk Management
- Develop and maintain enterprise risk management frameworks and risk registers.
- Conduct operational risk assessments across:
- Sports operations
- Arena and venue operations
- Concerts and special events
- Construction and capital projects
- Identify emerging risks affecting the organization.
- Recommend and implement mitigation strategies.
- Monitor key risk indicators and prepare executive-level reporting.
Claims Management
- Manage all property, casualty, workers' compensation, automobile, and liability claims.
- Coordinate investigations with carriers, third-party administrators, legal counsel, and internal stakeholders.
- Analyze loss trends and identify opportunities to reduce claim frequency and severity.
- Ensure timely reporting and documentation of incidents.
- Participate in accident review and root-cause investigations.
- Track reserves, settlements, and claim closures.
- Assist Legal Department with litigation matters involving insured claims.
Contractual Risk Transfer
- Review contracts to ensure appropriate risk allocation and insurance requirements.
- Collaborate closely with Legal and Operations teams regarding:
- Vendor agreements
- Sponsorship agreements
- Event contracts
- Construction contracts
- Entertainment and booking agreements
- Evaluate certificates of insurance and endorsements.
- Ensure compliance with organizational insurance standards.
- Develop standardized insurance requirements and contract language.
Venue and Event Risk Management
- Support risk planning for:
- Professional sporting events
- Concerts and entertainment events
- Community events
- VIP experiences
- Participate in event risk assessments and safety planning.
- Collaborate with Security, Guest Services, and Operations teams.
- Develop contingency plans for emergency incidents.
- Evaluate crowd management, life safety, and public liability exposures.
Loss Prevention and Safety
- Lead loss prevention initiatives designed to reduce operational risk.
- Conduct site inspections and risk audits.
- Identify trends in injuries, losses, and claims.
- Develop corrective action plans.
- Partner with People and Culture and Safety teams on injury prevention initiatives.
- Promote a culture of safety and risk awareness throughout the organization.
Compliance and Reporting
- Ensure compliance with insurance policy requirements and reporting obligations.
- Maintain corporate insurance records and schedules.
- Prepare reports and presentations for senior leadership.
- Support annual audits and regulatory examinations.
- Manage renewal of data collection and exposure reporting.
Insurance Program Management
- Assist in Managing the FEG's comprehensive insurance portfolio, including:
- Property
- General Liability
- Excess/Umbrella Liability
- Workers’ Compensation
- Automobile Liability
- Cyber Liability
- Directors & Officers Liability
- Employment Practices Liability
- Crime/Fidelity
- Professional Liability
- Terrorism Coverage
- Pollution/Environmental Liability
- Builder's Risk and Construction Insurance
- Assist with annual insurance marketing and renewal processes.
- Coordinate policy negotiations with brokers, carriers, and underwriters.
- Analyze coverage terms, limitations, exclusions, and endorsements.
- Monitor premium allocations and insurance budgeting.
- Evaluate alternative risk financing strategies and self-insurance opportunities.
Broker and Carrier Management
- Serve as primary liaison to insurance brokers and carriers.
- Coordinate stewardship meetings and renewal strategies.
- Monitor broker’s performance and service standards.
- Negotiate coverage enhancements and cost efficiencies.
Work Environment and Schedule
- This is a full-time position performed primarily in a professional office and arena environment.
- The role regularly uses computers, mobile devices, and standard office equipment and may include exposure to moderate noise and activity associated with a sports and entertainment venue.
- The work schedule may vary based on business needs and may occasionally include evenings, weekends, holidays, events, or game days.
- This position may require occasional travel to other FEG locations or events.

Requirements
Education
Bachelor’s degree in risk management, business administration, finance, accounting, insurance, legal studies, or a related field.
Experience
5-10 years of progressive experience in:
- Risk management
- Corporate insurance
- Sports and entertainment operations
- Claims management
- Experience supporting:
- Professional sports teams
- Arena or stadium operations
- Entertainment venues
- Multi-location organizations preferred.
