Manager Solution Architecture, IT/ITES Vertical

• AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.

This is the right role for someone who has experience working for or with an IT Services (ITS) and/or Global Systems Integrator (GSI) technology consulting firm, or a Fortune 1000 company. If you are a leader who has managed a team of Solution Architects and are a problem solver with broad technical skills, got hands-on experience working in a public cloud environment, and have the ability to drive technical conversations then this is the perfect role for you.

• Key job responsibilities
• Customer Engagement & Technical Leadership
• - Lead critical customer engagements including cloud adoption and migration programs, and complex technical challenges with high-stakes outcomes
• - Serve as a trusted technical advisor to senior business and technical leaders, operating at a strategic level and creating opportunities for your team to act as trusted advisors
• - Apply deep technical understanding across multiple domains to invent, evolve, and simplify solutions that drive customer success

• Team Leadership & Development
• - Coach and develop a team of experienced Solutions Architects to elevate their technical capabilities and strategic advisory abilities
• - Build a high-performing team through effective hiring, onboarding, and continuous skill development
• - Foster a culture of technical excellence and customer obsession
• - Maintain a high bar for operational excellence; define and maintain appropriate cadences for inspecting the business in your area

• Strategic Impact & Collaboration
• - Champion your area’s customer needs with senior leaders within AWS
• - Bridge customer needs with AWS product teams, ensuring customer feedback drives product improvements
• - Partner with senior leaders within AWS sales, specialist, and engineering teams to deliver comprehensive solutions and clear obstacles to customer success

• About the team
• A team of high performing Solution Architects with diverse and strong technology backgrounds working together to help our ITS and GSI customers make the best of AWS services

Basic qualifications

• - 10+ years of enterprise IT application work that includes at least 2 years of hands-on software development or DevOps engineering experience
• - 8+ years of technology solutions development and evangelising end-to-end technology roadmaps that guide IT transformations toward cloud computing experience
• - Experience leading and growing teams of senior technology professionals, ideally in customer facing roles
• - Bachelor's degree in mathematics, engineering, statistics, computer science, business administration or a related field
• - 4+ years of managing a technical team of solution architects, sales engineers or similar technical roles experience
• - Experience architecting/operating solutions built on any cloud service provider like Azure, AWS, GCP, OCI, etc.

Preferred qualifications

• - Experience architecting, migrating, transforming or modernizing customer requirements to the cloud
• - AWS Professional level certification
