About the Role
As a Manufacturing Associate I at Nomic, you will execute the hands-on laboratory workflows that enable the reliable and scalable production of reagents used in our nELISA® platform.
Core Manufacturing will be the primary day-to-day focus of this position. You will carry out the procedures that transform raw biological and chemical components into the reagents at the heart of our nELISA platform.
Many of these workflows are recurring and performed at increasing scale. Careful execution, strong organization, and the ability to maintain consistent quality across repeated activities are therefore essential to the role.
This position sits within Manufacturing and works closely with Manufacturing technicians, senior associates, development teams, and other Operations partners. You will take ownership of assigned production workflows, ensuring they are executed accurately, documented appropriately, and completed according to planned production timelines.
Following training and sign-off, you will independently execute assigned procedures, perform quality-control assays and routine equipment checks, and maintain traceability throughout each workflow. You will communicate unexpected observations or deviations promptly and work with experienced team members to resolve issues and keep production moving.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on laboratory work, takes pride in precise and consistent execution, and is motivated by producing high-quality reagents that enable scientists to measure biology at scale.
What You Will Be Doing
Core Manufacturing & Production Execution
Execute core nELISA Manufacturing workflows according to established procedures.
Independently complete assigned workflows following training and sign-off, maintaining accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail throughout each run.
Take ownership of assigned production activities, coordinating with Manufacturing team members to meet production timelines and communicating progress or risks promptly.
Execute quality-control assays and routine in-process checks according to established procedures, using flow cytometry for QC readouts, documenting results, and communicating unexpected observations promptly.
Maintain accurate material identification, traceability, and documentation throughout assigned Manufacturing workflows.
Complete batch manufacturing records, inventory entries, and other required production documentation accurately and promptly.
Rotate across multiple Manufacturing workflows to build technical breadth and provide flexible production coverage.
Supporting Processes & Continuous Improvement
Build proficiency in laboratory information management systems (LIMS), production documentation, and automated equipment used in assigned workflows.
Recognize routine equipment or automation issues and perform trained checks, seeking support when needed.
Contribute observations and practical suggestions that improve the clarity, consistency, reliability, and scalability of Manufacturing procedures.
Skills & Qualifications
Diploma or degree in life sciences, biotechnology, chemistry, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent relevant laboratory experience.
Prior hands-on wet-lab or laboratory production experience is preferred.
Experience working in a structured, process-driven laboratory environment is strongly preferred.
Experience with quality-control assays, flow cytometry, automated liquid-handling systems, or production documentation.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy and consistency across recurring laboratory workflows.
Clear verbal and written communication skills, including accurate and complete documentation.
Strong ownership and follow-through in completing assigned work and escalating discrepancies appropriately.
Who You Are
You enjoy hands-on laboratory work and take pride in accurate, consistent execution.
You are reliable and organized, and work confidently both independently within established procedures and collaboratively with the broader team.
You maintain a high standard of work across repeated activities and multi-step laboratory procedures.
You follow established procedures carefully and speak up when something does not look right.
You communicate clearly, ask questions when needed, and escalate concerns appropriately.
You take ownership of assigned production workflows, including their timely completion and accurate documentation.
You are motivated by making Manufacturing operations more reliable, efficient, and scalable.
Location & Job Type
Full-time, permanent, on-site at our Montreal location.
About us
Nomic was founded to make biology easier to measure—and to enable scientists to extend lives by making proteomics accessible, scalable, and routine. Our story began at McGill University, where our co-founders and early team developed breakthrough technology that would change the way proteins are measured.
Today, Nomic is powered by our proprietary nELISA® platform—an end-to-end technology that delivers high-throughput, quantitative, and affordable protein data at unprecedented scale. With the launch of Omni 1000, we are making the $50 proteome a reality, breaking down barriers that have limited the field for decades. For the first time, large-scale, quantitative proteomics is accessible to any scientist, supporting everything from drug discovery and translational research to AI-enabled therapeutic development.
Since our launch, we’ve partnered with leaders in pharma, biotech, and academia—including GlaxoSmithKline and the Broad Institute—and have profiled more than 500,000 samples across diverse applications. Our growth is fueled by over $60 million in investment from top-tier backers, including our recent $42 million Series B.
We’re building a team of world-changers—scientists, engineers, and problem-solvers who believe that accessible proteomics can help shape the future of medicine. If you want your work to have real impact, we’d love to meet you.
