Position Overview

The successful candidate will improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) across production operations by increasing efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. This individual will develop and implement process strategies, coordinate process resources, optimize existing manufacturing processes, and support reliability-centered maintenance practices. The candidate will demonstrate Mustad values by working respectfully and collaboratively with colleagues to deliver quality products and support organizational success.

Essential Job Functions

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

The successful candidate will provide supervisors and staff with technical support related to 3D CAD modeling and drawings, robotics, closed-die hot forging, machine-shop operations, and related manufacturing processes. The candidate will share best practices and evaluate proposed process machinery by preparing return-on-investment analyses and recommendations.

Conducts and/or participates in design reviews for new products and new process projects. Supports R&D in integrating new technologies and machinery into the manufacturing environment.

Assist in assessment of existing manufacturing methods and research new technologies for improving the capabilities of current processes.

Performs risk analyses, designs and tests processes, creates reports to convey results and outcomes; troubleshoots and resolves or suggests resolution for process concerns.

Develops, maintains, and updates standardized operating instructions including data analysis for supporting the decision-making process.

Improve all electromechanical processes integrated with robotics through zero failure analysis and other improvement techniques

The successful candidate will have Lean or Six Sigma training or certification and will demonstrate the ability to apply statistical methods when evaluating manufacturing processes and improvement projects.

The successful candidate will have experience establishing and improving condition-monitoring and reliability programs using equipment history, failure data, and performance indicators such as MTBF, MTTR, and planned maintenance effectiveness to optimize maintenance tasks and prevent recurring failures.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience leading root cause failure analyses and defect-elimination initiatives for chronic or high-consequence equipment failures, translating findings into corrective actions and confirming sustained improvement through reliability metrics.

Education, Experience, and Skills Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

The successful candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or a related engineering discipline and have 3–5 years of relevant professional experience.

The successful candidate will have 2–3 years of process-engineering experience in field operations, process design and engineering, process optimization, standard operating procedure development, and reliability analysis.

Knowledge of Solidworks or other modeling software

Problem solving skills, advanced technical skills, analytical thinker

Highly self-motivated, adaptable to change, and an excellent work ethic

Well organized with a strong aptitude for details

Able to read, understand, analyze, and problem-solve mechanical and electrical drawings

Able to work independently and accurately with minimal supervision

Outstanding computer skills MS office, and data analysis, PowerBI and others

Demonstrated experience applying reliability-centered maintenance principles, including asset criticality analysis and failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA), to select technically appropriate and cost-effective preventive, predictive, or run-to-failure strategies.

Familiarity with Quality, health, environmental and safety regulations

Must be able to read, write, and speak English

Must work well in a team environment

Desirable Skills/Attributes (preferred but not required)

Experience working with heavy equipment engineering such as close-die, hot forge, designing tooling, Lathes and CNCs

Spanish fluency verbally

Power BI, Statistics fluency, Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma

Physical Demands

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer

Periods of standing, walking, reaching above shoulders, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, and working with tools

Occasionally lifts and/or move objects up to 50 pounds.

Must hold a valid passport with the ability to travel internationally on occasion

Work Environment

The employee works in a factory environment and is occasionally exposed to wet, humid conditions and toxic or caustic chemicals. Individuals are occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and be working with and near moving mechanical parts with the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is loud. Personal Protective Equipment will be provided.
