Summary:

The Procurement Market Research Analyst will be the intelligence engine that powers category and sourcing strategies. Your role is to deliver actionable market insights that help category managers and sourcing teams make informed, competitive and future-ready decisions. You will research industry trends, analyse supplier landscapes, support supplier discovery and benchmark competitors to uncover opportunities for cost optimisation, innovation, and risk mitigation.

You will collect and synthesise data from multiple external sources including market reports, supplier databases, pricing benchmarks, and industry publications. This will help you provide clear, accurate and relevant insights to your procurement stakeholders. A key part of your role will be preparing dashboards and reports that translate complex market data into practical recommendations for procurement stakeholders. By combining analytical rigor with a deep understanding of market dynamics, you will enable smarter category strategies and supplier discovery initiatives.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Conduct market and industry research to identify trends, supplier landscapes and competitive benchmarks
  • Perform company profiling and supplier discovery to support sourcing strategies
  • Analyse pricing trends and competitor data to inform negotiation strategies
  • Provide actionable insights to support category planning and sourcing decisions
  • Validate and synthesise data from multiple external sources for accuracy and relevance
  • Prepare reports and dashboards summarizing market intelligence for procurement stakeholders
  • Collaborate with category managers and sourcing teams to align research outputs with business need
  • Maintain a repository of market intelligence and ensure timely updates
  • Monitor emerging trends and risks that could impact supply markets
  • Support continuous improvement of research methodologies and tools

Key Experiences and Qualifications:

  • +3 years of experience in market research, analytics, or procurement intelligence
  • Strong understanding of supplier markets, industry trends and competitive analysis
  • Experience working in aerospace or defence, or other complex manufacturing industry
  • Familiarity with procurement processes and category management principles
  • Understanding of procurement policies, governance frameworks and compliance assessments related to aerospace and defence
  • Extensive experience in data analytics and advanced data visualisation tools
  • Working knowledge of SAP, Ivalua, Coupa
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering excellent customer service and influencing others
  • Proven track record in delivering business results and achieving objectives
