The role / impact

As Marketing Communications Manager for Canada, you will play a key role in building Xero's profile and deepening customer connection across the region during a six-month contract. You will turn regional priorities and global campaigns into clear, engaging Canadian storytelling across earned media, customer communications, content, thought leadership, and social media.

Moving comfortably between planning, execution, and delivery, your work will ensure Canadian small businesses, accountants, and bookkeepers see the true value of Xero. You will elevate local customer stories, secure high-impact media opportunities, and amplify our brand presence across key market channels.

The team / how they connect

You will join a collaborative Canadian marketing team, reporting directly to the Head of Marketing, Canada. Working closely with sales, customer success, product marketing, and global brand teams, you will act as a bridge between local priorities and global strategy. You will also manage external PR and social agencies to deliver seamless, integrated communications.

Initially, you will focus on

Establishing a consistent communications rhythm across earned media, customer stories, thought leadership, and social channels.

Creating and adapting compelling messaging, pitches, Q&As, and thought leadership pieces tailored for Canadian audiences.

Building and activating a pipeline of local customer success stories, testimonials, and advocacy opportunities.

Directing day-to-day agency workflows and tracking campaign performance alongside global and regional teams.

Here are some of the things we are looking for

You bring a strong background in delivering hands-on communications or marketing campaigns across earned, owned, and social media.

You have exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to turn complex topics into clear, engaging narratives.

You bring experience managing agency partners from initial brief through to execution and measurement.

You possess sound judgement in managing fast-paced or sensitive issues, protecting brand trust and accuracy.

You have solid project management skills with proven ability to navigate matrixed global environments and adapt strategy for local relevance.

You carry a genuine interest in SaaS, technology, and supporting the needs of small businesses and their advisors.

The expected base salary range for this role is $87,100 – $135,000

Individual pay is determined by various factors, including geography, level of experience, and the specific skills you bring to the role.

In addition to base pay, Xero’s roles are eligible for the following forms of variable compensation:

Variable Pay: Permanent employees are eligible to participate in our annual bonus and equity (RSU) programs. You may also be eligible for performance-based cash or equity (RSUs) incentives depending on your role level, and company performance.
