The Opportunity

Join Stroke Aotearoa as our Marketing Officer and help deliver marketing activity that raises awareness and vital funds, engages supporters and strengthens the reach of our services.

Reporting to the Marketing Manager, you will create content for social media, websites and email marketing; develop brochures, flyers, presentations and other collateral; maintain digital channels; and support approved campaigns, fundraising initiatives and events.

Working closely with the Communications Advisor and fundraising colleagues, you will help ensure our communications are accurate, accessible, audience-focused and consistent with the Stroke Aotearoa brand.

This practical, hands-on role is ideal for someone with at least one year of relevant experience who is ready to grow their marketing capability in a collaborative, values-driven organisation.

Join a Meaningful Cause

Stroke Aotearoa is the national charity in New Zealand solely dedicated to the prevention of and recovery from stroke. For over 40 years, we have promoted ways to prevent stroke and worked alongside stroke survivors, their whānau and carers. More than 9,000 people experience a stroke in New Zealand each year, and stroke is a leading cause of serious adult disability. With clear evidence of inequitable outcomes for whānau Māori, we are committed to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and to fostering an inclusive environment that values diversity and equity.

Our Mission is to prevent stroke and improve lives.

Our Vision is for a Stroke Free Aotearoa.

About You

at least one year’s experience in a marketing, communications or digital marketing role,

excellent written communication skills and strong attention to detail,

the ability to organise work, manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines,

strong Microsoft Office skills,

strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative, adaptable approach,

empathy for our mission, vision and values, and a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

Experience in the not-for-profit, health or community sector, or with email marketing platforms, and short-form video creation, would be an advantage.

This full-time role is based in Wellington and is 37.5 hours per week. Applicants must be currently entitled to work in Aotearoa New Zealand.
