Position Title: Marketing & Sales Specialist

Location:

Hyattsville, MD

Position Summary: The Marketing & Sales Specialist is responsible for increasing the company’s visibility, developing new business relationships, and generating qualified leads across federal, state, and local government markets. This position serves as a key front-line representative of the company, conducting proactive outreach, and building relationships with government agencies, industry partners, and prospective clients.

The ideal candidate is a high energy, confident, and highly engaging professional with strong communication and relationship-building skills, a proactive approach to sales and marketing, and the ability to effectively promote technology and various professional services within the government contracting marketplace.

Key Responsibilities:

Research target markets, government agencies, and industry sectors to identify prospective customers, partners, and business opportunities.

Collaborate with internal teams to develop a strong understanding of the company’s current contracts, capabilities, services, and past performance in order to effectively represent and promote the company in the marketplace.

Develop and execute targeted marketing and sales outreach campaigns to increase company visibility and generate qualified leads.

Conduct proactive outreach through email, telephone, LinkedIn, networking, and other professional channels.

Represent the company at industry days, conferences, matchmaking events, trade shows, and networking events.

Develop and deliver company presentations, capability briefings, and other client-facing materials.

Communicate the company’s capabilities, services, experience, and value proposition to prospective clients and industry partners.

Develop and maintain capability statements, presentations, digital content, and other corporate marketing materials.

Manage and maintain the company’s professional digital presence, including LinkedIn and other relevant platforms.

Identify and qualify prospective leads and maintain accurate contact and outreach information within the company’s CRM.

Monitor SAM.gov, agency forecasts, industry publications, and other sources to identify relevant market trends and potential opportunities.

Build and maintain professional relationships with government representatives, prospective clients, industry partners, and other stakeholders.

Collaborate with leadership, Business Development, technical teams, and other internal departments to support company-wide marketing, sales, and growth initiatives.

Transition qualified leads and viable opportunities to the appropriate internal team for continued engagement.

Provide leadership with updates on outreach activities, lead generation, market intelligence, and results.

Maintain a database that tracks all the key responsibilities listed above.

Required Qualifications:

3–5 years of experience in marketing, sales, business development, communications, public relations, or a related field.

Experience in information technology, professional services, or government contracting environment preferred.

Demonstrated experience with lead generation, prospect outreach, networking, or relationship development.

Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.

Confident and professional communication style with the ability to engage effectively with clients and industry stakeholders.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, CRM systems, and professional networking platforms.

Self-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented.

Ability to travel as needed for conferences, industry events, networking activities, and client meetings.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in the government contracting (GovCon) industry.

Familiarity with federal, state, and local government procurement.

Familiarity with SAM.gov and government market research resources.

Experience developing capability statements, presentations, and marketing collateral.

Experience managing LinkedIn or other professional social media platforms.

Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design tools.

Established relationships within the government contracting or technology industry.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
