WPP Enterprise Solutions works alongside best-in-class partners including Adobe, AWS, Braze, Google, Microsoft, Salesforce, and Shopify, as well as innovators in AI, to deliver growth solutions tailored to the needs of our clients’ businesses. VML, part of WPP, supports WPP Enterprise Solutions by helping brands activate transformation through creativity and experience.

Working in MarTech with WPP Enterprise Solutions

WPP Enterprise Solutions is a full-service digital agency helping ambitious brands deliver connected, personalised experiences across digital channels. Our expertise spans Marketing, Commerce, CRM, PXM and CX, enabling us to deliver end-to-end solutions with measurable impact.

Our clients include Bayer, MSD, Dyson, Johnson & Johnson, RTL, Nestlé, Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein and other global brands. Our teams are based in Amsterdam, Barcelona, London, Poland and India, with access to the wider WPP network worldwide.

The Opportunity

You'll help design and build MarTech solutions across Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Data Cloud and the wider Salesforce platform, working collaboratively across the wider team. Depending on the client, you may work across platforms such as Braze, Klaviyo, Bloomreach and Adobe, together with data and cloud technologies including Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, Tealium, Segment, AWS, Azure and GCP.

What You'll Do

1. Design the solution and data

You help shape the data model and integrations, then build, test and support reliable production code with the wider team.

Most of our depth sits in Salesforce Marketing Cloud, but the architecture rarely stops at one platform.

Relational schemas, keys, retention, extract and ingestion strategies.

Identity resolution across fragmented sources.

2. Build the integrations

REST, SOAP, webhooks, batch or event-driven - you help select the right pattern, implement it and ensure failures recover safely.

Work at the warehouse and CDP layer, not just the activation platform at the end of it.

3. Build maintainable solutions

Build with AMPScript, SSJS, Apex, LWC, Liquid, Jinja or general-purpose code, depending on the platform and problem.

Queries and automation logic driving segmentation and journeys at volume.

Improve the team’s versioning, review and deployment practices where they add value.

Decisions documented so they outlast your engagement.

4. Translate for the client

Shape ambiguous requirements into something buildable and present the solution yourself.

What You Bring

1. Software Engineering

Production experience with Node.js, Python, Java, PHP or .NET.

You write maintainable, tested and idempotent code with effective error handling and logging.

2. Data Engineering and Architecture

Strong SQL against large datasets - not just reads, but the queries that drive segmentation and automation.

You understand customer identity resolution across fragmented sources, including deterministic and probabilistic matching, survivorship and profile consolidation.

3. Integration and Delivery

Delivered a production integration using REST, SOAP or webhooks.

Understands batch and event-driven patterns, rate limits, retries, failure recovery and duplicate prevention.

Hands-on version control in a team setting - branching, pull requests, peer review.

4. Front-end Development

Comfortable building and debugging rendered output with HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

5. Marketing Platform Delivery

Hands-on delivery on an enterprise marketing or CRM platform - Salesforce, Braze, Klaviyo, Bloomreach, Adobe or equivalent.

Built audience segmentation and multi-step customer journeys against a live data source.

Worked directly with marketing stakeholders on requirements, not only via a ticket queue.

Bonus experience

Additional Marketing Automation Experience: Salesforce Personalization, Pardot or Marketing Cloud Next; Adobe Campaign, Journey Optimizer or Marketo Engage; or HubSpot.

Core CRM Platforms: Salesforce Sales, Service, Experience, Commerce or Industry Clouds.

CDP Platforms: Data Cloud, Tealium, Segment or equivalent.

Platform Development: AMPScript, SSJS, Apex, LWC, Liquid, Jinja.

Data Engineering and Architecture: ETL / ELT, batch and streaming pipelines, data governance, big data.

APIs & Integration: GraphQL.

Front-end Development: React, Angular, Vue.

DevOps: CI/CD, SFMC DevTools, Salesforce CLI, Copado, Gearset.

Email Development: Responsive email build, including cross-client and dark mode testing.

Email Deliverability: Sending reputation and authentication - SPF, DKIM, DMARC, dedicated IP warming.

How You Work

1.Stay hands-on across the delivery lifecycle

This is a hands-on developer role. You help design and build solutions using platform languages, SQL and the appropriate integration technologies.

You also review, audit, migrate and improve inherited solutions.

You build solutions that are bulk-safe, observable and tested, with error handling and logging included from the start.

You name things properly, you leave comments where the platform forced an ugly decision, and you don't hand over a black box.

2. Platform-pragmatic

You work the constraint rather than resenting it. Enterprise marketing platforms often won't let you build the elegant solution, and you find the one that holds.

You know when a platform's native tooling is enough and when the problem belongs in real code.

3. Design, document and deliver responsibly

You consider the data model and integration pattern before building, keeping the design effort proportionate to the problem.

You write the design down. Decisions and trade-offs outlast your engagement.

You take responsibility for what you ship and can diagnose production issues.

Your work lives in version control, gets reviewed by peers, and deploys the same way twice.

You'd rather have a design challenged early than find the problem in production.

4. Client-facing across disciplines

You lead requirements discussions and present solutions clearly to both marketing and technical stakeholders.

You adapt the level of detail to your audience.

You work closely with campaign operations, data engineers, developers and strategists, translating effectively between disciplines.

In return, this is what we offer

We encourage ambitious ideas, invest in your development and support a flexible, welcoming workplace.

Our compensation

An annual gross salary of €43,700–€50,000, depending on experience.

Company private health insurance.

A choice of a Mac or Windows laptop.

Career progression

Deepen your technical path towards Senior Marketing Technology Engineer, with a longer-term route into Technical Lead responsibilities across a portfolio.

Broaden your practice path by improving how we deliver, what we standardise and how the wider team develops.

We’ll help you build either path through demonstrated impact, growing responsibility and business need.

Our culture

Work from home at least one day a week.

A culture of trust, with a feel-at-home vibe and an international environment.

Mental health: Complimentary membership to EAP counselling services.

Experience working across both B2B and B2C delivery contexts.

Note to recruitment agencies: We are unable to collaborate with external agencies at this moment in time, applications sent won't be processed.
