Have a minimum of a bachelor's degree.

Prior teaching experience preferred but not required

General Purpose:

The Grades 4-6 Elementary Math & Science teacher is responsible for developing students’ academic excellence and virtue by creating a positive culture of inquiry and learning and providing students with challenging and meaningful learning activities and experiences.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Faithfully implements instruction

Delivers effective instruction

Manages classroom climate and operation

Promotes achievement

Subject matter knowledge:

Advanced principles and concepts of biology, physical science, earth science, and astronomy appropriate to the elementary school curriculum; principles and procedures of scientific inquiry; history of major scientific and technological discoveries or inventions; laboratory techniques, safety issues related to science labs and investigations

Plans curriculum and instruction

Delivers effective instruction

Manages classroom climate and operation

Promotes achievement

Meets professional responsibilities

Teacher Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

Model and support students in developing virtuous character

Support the school's mission through fidelity to policies and practices

Teach assigned science groups

Deliver effective instruction that promotes achievement

Create a positive culture of inquiry and learning

Educational Requirements :

Four-year degree

Passing scores on the following tests if bachelor's degree is not in the same field as the position:

PRAXIS 5205 (Reading), PRAXIS 5903 (Math), PRAXIS 5905 (Science)

PRAXIS tests must be accomplished within 90 days of start date

Fees for passed tests will be reimbursed
