Huron helps its clients drive growth, enhance performance and sustain leadership in the markets they serve. We collaborate with education organizations to develop strategies and implement solutions that enable the transformative change our clients need to own their future. Together, we empower clients to drive innovation, create sustainable funding streams and deliver better student outcomes.

Today, leaders of higher education institutions and academic medical centers are spending too much time reacting to market forces, rather than focusing on the essential priorities that help students, faculty and staff thrive. The most productive path forward requires an intentional approach and innovative thinking, whereby stakeholders across the entire institution rally around a shared vision and embrace the hard work of effecting change.

You’ll help our clients to achieve organizational effectiveness, improve student outcomes, implement new technologies and align resources and investments to ensure long-term sustainability.

Join our team as the expert you are now and create your future.

Huron’s MBA Summer Associate program offers MBA students the opportunity to experience consulting through meaningful, hands-on client work. As an MBA Summer Associate, you will work alongside experienced consultants to help clients navigate complex challenges, develop actionable strategies, and drive meaningful change.

Throughout the summer, you will contribute to project teams, analyze qualitative and quantitative information, develop insights and recommendations, and communicate findings to colleagues and clients. You will be encouraged to bring your perspective, take ownership of your work, and build relationships across the firm while receiving coaching and feedback to accelerate your development.

The program is designed to provide a realistic experience of a career at Huron and an opportunity to demonstrate the skills, leadership, and impact expected of our full-time consultants.

What You'll Do

As an MBA Summer Associate, you will be an active member of a Huron consulting team, working with colleagues and clients to solve complex business challenges and deliver meaningful results. Depending on your project and practice area, responsibilities may include:

  • Solve complex client challenges: Structure ambiguous problems, conduct research and analysis, evaluate alternatives, and translate findings into practical recommendations.
  • Develop data-driven insights: Analyze quantitative and qualitative information to identify trends, opportunities, risks, and implications for clients.
  • Contribute to client engagements: Own defined workstreams or deliverables and collaborate with project teams to deliver high-quality work on time.
  • Communicate recommendations: Synthesize insights into clear, compelling presentations and other client-ready deliverables, tailoring communication to different audiences.
  • Collaborate across teams: Work effectively with colleagues, clients, and subject-matter experts, bringing together diverse perspectives to strengthen solutions.
  • Take ownership and demonstrate initiative: Proactively identify next steps, manage priorities, and take responsibility for the quality and impact of your work.
  • Build trusted relationships: Develop productive relationships with clients and colleagues by listening actively, understanding their priorities, and contributing thoughtfully.
  • Learn and grow: Seek feedback, apply coaching, and build new industry, functional, and consulting capabilities throughout the summer.
  • Contribute to Huron: Participate in the broader firm community through networking, professional development, and other activities beyond your immediate client engagement.

What You'll Bring

We are looking for MBA candidates who are intellectually curious, collaborative, and motivated to make an impact for clients. Successful candidates will demonstrate:
