MCCB Product Engineering Lead

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced MCCB Product Engineering Lead with expertise in product development, industrialization, manufacturing processes, validation, and quality engineering for low-voltage switchgear products. The role requires strong technical leadership to drive new product introduction, supplier development, testing, and manufacturing excellence.

Your Role

As an MCCB Product Engineering Lead, you will be responsible for leading product engineering and industrialization activities for MCCB products, ensuring successful product launches, quality compliance, and continuous improvement across the product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• •Lead MCCB product engineering activities from design support through industrialization and production ramp-up.
• •Drive New Product Introduction (NPI) programs including pilot builds, process qualification, and manufacturing readiness.
• •Provide technical expertise on MCCB architecture, protection systems, operating mechanisms, and critical components.
• •Collaborate with design, manufacturing, quality, testing, and supplier teams to ensure robust product performance.
• •Support manufacturing processes including moulding, stamping, forming, plating, joining, assembly, calibration, and testing.
• •Review and validate plastic, rubber, and sheet-metal components for manufacturability, quality, and reliability.
• •Execute APQP activities including PFMEA, Process Flow, Control Plan, MSA, Cp/Cpk studies, and PPAP deliverables.
• •Lead validation and compliance testing as per IEC 60947-2 standards.
• •Perform root cause analysis for product, process, supplier, and field failures and drive corrective actions.
• •Support supplier qualification, component development, process audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• •Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across cross-functional teams.

Required Skills & Experience

• •13+ years of experience in MCCB product engineering, manufacturing engineering, or industrialization.
• •Strong hands-on knowledge of MCCB architecture, protection mechanisms, and components.
• •Proven experience executing NPI, pilot production, process release, and ramp-up activities.
• •Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes including injection moulding, stamping, sheet-metal fabrication, assembly, and testing.
• •Strong understanding of engineering plastics, copper alloys, steels, contact materials, bimetals, elastomers, and coatings.
• •Hands-on experience with APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, MSA, Control Plans, and process capability analysis.
• •Knowledge of IEC 60947-2 testing including temperature rise, dielectric, overload, endurance, and trip testing.
• •Expertise in failure analysis, problem-solving methodologies, and corrective/preventive actions.
• •Experience in supplier development, supplier qualification, and technical leadership.
• •Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills.
