Our in-house engineering and development team designs, prototypes, manufactures, and tests suspension components and systems across our automotive aftermarket brands. You'll work directly with engineers and technicians to develop products in SOLIDWORKS, build prototypes, and install and test them on vehicles.
You'll help develop new product lines, expand existing applications, and improve current products for performance, durability, and manufacturing cost. If you enjoy seeing your designs built, installed, and proven in the field, this role is for you.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Design & Analysis
- Develop products from concept to production, including detailed 3D models and fully toleranced drawings in SOLIDWORKS (GD&T per ASME Y14.5).
- Perform stress analysis using SOLIDWORKS Simulation (FEA) to validate designs.
- Design for manufacturability across machining, sheet metal, fabrication, and welding processes.
- Improve existing products through design analysis, testing, and engineering changes.
Prototype, Test & Validate
- Install and remove prototype suspension and steering components and perform vehicle fitment testing.
- Benchmark competitor and existing products through testing, measurement, and material analysis.
- Inspect components using precision measurement equipment and coordinate inspection requirements with Quality.
- Review test data to verify designs meet functional and performance requirements.
Collaboration & Documentation
- Work with suppliers, manufacturers, and internal teams to develop products and resolve technical issues.
- Conduct market research to identify new product opportunities.
- Review engineering drawings for accuracy, tolerances, and fitment.
- Create and maintain bills of materials (BOMs), drawings, and engineering documentation.
- Develop installation and assembly instructions for technicians and customers.
- Track project progress in Wrike and communicate updates during team meetings.
