Position Overview
The Hagerstown EATS team is looking for an experienced engineer to contribute to the development and advancement of engine aftertreatment hardware systems. This position offers the opportunity to work in a technically demanding, fast-moving environment while collaborating with engineering teams, suppliers, and other functional organizations.
The position will report to the Group Manager responsible for Aftertreatment Engineering.
Key Responsibilities
Contribute to the design, development, validation, and production launch of engine aftertreatment hardware in partnership with suppliers and engineering organizations worldwide.
Develop test plans and conduct EATS system testing, verification, and validation using test rigs, engine test cells, and vehicles.
Partner with cross-functional teams, including Engine Engineering, Aftertreatment Engineering, On-Board Diagnostics Software, and Calibration teams, both locally and internationally.
Execute engineering test procedures accurately and efficiently while evaluating test results to verify data quality and system performance.
Prepare and communicate technical findings through clear written documentation and presentations.
Investigate customer and field issues related to aftertreatment systems and develop effective engineering solutions.
Develop, release, and implement calibration updates for production and aftermarket applications.
Travel domestically and internationally as needed to support engineering activities, testing, suppliers, or other business requirements.
Candidate Profile
This role requires an engineer who is comfortable working across a range of technical activities and contributing effectively within a collaborative engineering organization. Success in this position requires a combination of technical capability, analytical thinking, accountability, and strong interpersonal skills.
We are looking for someone who demonstrates:

Technical Expertise: Develops and maintains a strong understanding of relevant engineering technologies, processes, and industry practices.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline.
Approximately 2–5+ years of relevant engineering experience.
Practical experience with diesel engines and/or exhaust aftertreatment system development.
Strong written, verbal, and technical presentation skills.
Ability to work independently, prioritize responsibilities, and take initiative with limited supervision.
Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve complex engineering problems within established timelines.
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams.
Customer-focused and results-oriented approach to engineering.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with catalyst coating technologies, substrates, or related chemistry.
Experience in engine aftertreatment hardware development, testing, validation, or calibration.
Demonstrated interest in developing innovative engineering solutions and improving product performance.
Salary Range: $75,000-78,000
The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience
