Mechanical Engineer Intern

VPT, Inc., a global leader in providing power conversion solutions for use in avionics, military, space and industrial applications, is currently searching for Mechanical Engineering students interested in obtaining a Summer 2027 internship position. This internship will provide an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in both an R&D and manufacturing environment while working alongside experienced engineers who are leaders in their field.

Interns will contribute to a range of engineering tasks including:

Create and modify dimension drawings of custom mechanical hardware and fixtures used in production

Create and modify assembly documentation such as drawings, travelers, and procedures

Learn and create basic programs on VPT's CNC type equipment (e.g. waterjet, automated adhesive dispenser, etc.)

Observe and monitor experiments and tests in the lab such as steady state temperature measurements

Qualifications:

Must currently be studying Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering or Industrial and Systems Engineering. Recent graduates in one of these programs will also be considered for the role.

Because of the nature of the role, a US Person is required

Actual employment will be through a staffing agency of VPT's choosing.

The anticipated starting salary range for this role will be $18 - $30 / hour.
