The role involves reviewing customer specifications, developing reliable mechanical and mechatronic designs, validating performance through testing and analysis, and delivering high-quality engineering outputs on time.

Job Responsibilities

  • Review customer specifications, reference documents, and design inputs; identify discrepancies and propose suitable technical solutions.
  • Develop and check electrical actuator designs for form, fit, function, manufacturability, assembly, safety, material selection, and operational reliability.
  • Prepare detailed drawings, 3D models, BOMs, engineering calculations, analysis reports, and other required technical documentation.
  • Perform structural, thermal, vibration, and performance analysis to validate component and actuator designs.
  • Plan and execute functional, durability, thermal, environmental, and performance testing for actuators and related systems.
  • Support integration of mechanical, electrical, and control-system elements including sensors, feedback mechanisms, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Follow approved engineering standards, design procedures, project specifications, and design-authority guidelines.
  • Conduct self-checks and participate in critical design reviews for complex assignments.
  • Coordinate with customers, GTEC job coordinators, specialists, and team leads on design progress, technical clarifications, and schedule variations.
  • Support continuous improvement through root-cause analysis, FMEA, design optimization, and automation of engineering calculations where applicable.

Main Objectives

  • Deliver safe, reliable, and cost-effective electrical actuator designs meeting customer and project requirements.
  • Ensure design quality, accuracy, compliance, and on-time completion of engineering deliverables.
  • Improve actuator performance, durability, manufacturability, and serviceability through robust engineering analysis and validation.
  • Maintain effective technical communication with internal stakeholders and customers throughout the assignment lifecycle.
  • Drive continuous improvement in design processes, testing methods, and engineering documentation.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical actuator design or related mechanical/mechatronic product design.
  • Strong experience in mechanical design, assembly design, component design, and engineering calculations.
  • Knowledge of electrical actuator systems, sensors, feedback mechanisms, and control-system integration.
  • Experience in testing and validation, including functional, durability, thermal, environmental, and vibration testing.
  • Good understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including pumps, valves, and actuators.
  • Experience in structural, thermal, and vibration analysis.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD, preferably SolidWorks, including drawings, assemblies, BOMs, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Experience with Windchill PLM.
  • Knowledge of relevant standards such as ASME, API, DIN, and ISO.
  • Working knowledge of Python or MATLAB for calculations, simulations, automation, or data analysis is preferred.
