Mechanical Engineering Intern - Summer 2027

STV is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our Buildings team. This internship offers an opportunity for undergraduate and graduate-level candidates to work alongside our experienced team, learn, and contribute to meaningful projects. This hybrid position requires at least 3 days a week in the office. Preference will be given to those who can participate in the internship for at least 3 months and can work full-time.

Responsibilities:

• •Assist in HVAC designs, calculations, and reports for various building projects.
• •Participate in equipment selection and specification writing processes.
• •Lead projects under the guidance of senior engineers.
• •Mentor junior staff members and provide guidance as needed.
• •Meet with clients to discuss project requirements and make recommendations based on their needs.
• •Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including structural, traffic, and geotechnical engineers.
• •Plan, organize, and develop engineering activities for construction and maintenance projects.
• •Evaluate, select, and apply engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
• •Devise innovative approaches to solve engineering problems.
• •Prepare or modify drawings, specifications, calculations, charts, and graphs.
• •Monitor work to ensure compliance with applicable codes and engineering practices.
• •Perform other tasks as assigned to support project goals and team objectives.

Required:

Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at an ABET-accredited University or NCEES equivalent.

Compensation Range:

$47,959.00 - $54,498.00
