OUR TEAM

Our Integrated Weapons & Sensors (IWS) team have been supporting Australian soldiers for over 100 years – designing, developing and manufacturing a range of small arms for military use. And with ongoing investment into our facilities and apprentice program, we’re building out our capabilities for generations to come.

YOUR ROLE

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join our maintenance team and play a key role in keeping our precision manufacturing operations safe, reliable and running at peak performance.

Working across CNC machining, barrel production, assembly, testing and general site infrastructure, you will be responsible for preventative and breakdown maintenance, mechanical fault finding, fabrication, machining, equipment installation and continuous improvement.

  • Preventative and breakdown maintenance across CNC machinery and specialised production equipment
  • Mechanical fault finding and repairs across hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems
  • Welding, fabrication, machining and sheet-metal work
  • Maintenance of pumps, compressors, extraction systems, coolant and swarf systems
  • Installation, relocation and commissioning of machinery
  • Manufacture and modification of jigs, fixtures, guards and tooling
  • Supporting continuous improvement and equipment reliability initiatives
  • Assisting with contractors, shutdowns and general site maintenance
  • Mentoring and supervising mechanical apprentices

YOUR EXPERIENCE

  • Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical (Maintenance Fitter) or equivalent
  • Proven industrial mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, CNC machinery, welding/fabrication or plant commissioning is highly regarded
  • High Risk Work licences such as EWP, forklift, dogging and confined space are advantageous, or willingness to obtain
