Medical Assistant

Description

Medical Assistants provide physician support services that ensure that healthcare facilities run smoothly. They are responsible for administrative as well as clinical tasks.

Requirements

• •Outreach to encourage the improved healthcare manage of the person served.
• •Adheres to and supports the mission, purpose, philosophy, objectives, policies and procedures of Tenet Physician Resources; Optimize resources and opportunities through community linkages and enhance social supports.
• •Assists in the assessment of patient needs and health plan by taking vital signs, history and medication listing.
• •Completes all necessary documentation in the patient's medical record in accordance with practices charting policy.
• •Prepares equipment and assists physicians with medical treatments, exams and medical procedures.
• •Administers prescribed oral medications and gives intramuscular and subcutaneous and intradermal injections.
• •Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Education, Experience & Skills required;

• •High school diploma/GED required.
• •Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting Program;
• •CPR/BLS certification is required;
• •One year experience working in a physician office;
• •Knowledge of substance abuse or related field;
• •Good verbal and written communication skills;
• •Ability to work effectively on a team.
