Description:
We are seeking a talented individual to join our Claims team at Marsh Papua New Guinea . This role will be based in Papua New Guinea.
As a Medical Claims Officer , you will support the administration and coordination of medical and health-related insurance claims for Marsh clients. You will work closely with clients, insurers, healthcare providers and internal teams to help ensure claims are handled accurately, efficiently and in line with policy terms, service standards and confidentiality requirements.
We will count on you to:
- Receive, register and acknowledge medical claims notifications in a timely manner
- Review claims submissions for completeness, accuracy and alignment with policy coverage and insurer requirements
- Obtain and organise supporting documentation such as claim forms, medical reports, invoices, receipts and discharge summaries
- Submit claims and supporting information to insurers or administrators within required service timeframes
- Monitor outstanding claims, follow up on progress and support timely resolution
- Maintain accurate claims records and prepare status reports, summaries and other management information
- Liaise with clients, insurers, providers and internal teams to resolve queries, clarify requirements and manage expectations
- Escalate complex, disputed, high-value or sensitive claims to the Claims Manager or relevant senior colleague as needed
What you need to have:
- Diploma or degree in insurance, business administration, finance, health administration or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant work experience
- Experience in claims administration, insurance operations, health insurance, employee benefits or a related client service role
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook
- Strong administrative and recordkeeping skills
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability and sound judgement
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and handle confidential information with discretion

- Previous experience handling medical, health or employee benefits claims
- Experience working in an insurance broker, insurer, third-party administrator or healthcare environment
- Familiarity with medical terminology, hospital billing or health insurance documentation
- Relevant insurance or claims-related training or certification
