About the Role:

GoodRx is seeking a Medical Editor to help build a trusted, practical, evidence-based editorial program for healthcare professionals. The editor will own a defined portfolio of specialties, topics, and formats while contributing to the broader HCP Editorial strategy.

This is an opportunity to shape a new HCP editorial function from the ground up. You will combine clinical expertise with editorial judgment to create content that is accurate, useful, and relevant to practicing clinicians. You will work directly with the Senior Medical Director and a small team of peers to set priorities, build scalable systems, and establish a high standard for HCP content.

Your work will span articles, drug information, specialty resources, newsletters, updates, video, infographics, and other formats. You will remain close to the work while also taking independent ownership of complex editorial projects, influencing cross-functional partners, and helping the program expand over time.

What You’ll Do :

  • Own a portfolio: Develop and manage an editorial roadmap for assigned specialties, topics, and formats. Set priorities with the Senior Medical Director and peer editors, and turn them into clear briefs, calendars, and deliverables.
  • Create and shape the work: Write, assign, edit, and medically review HCP content. Bring clinical judgment, strong editorial craft, and a clear understanding of clinician needs to every stage of development.
  • Set the clinical and editorial bar: Ensure content is accurate, evidence-based, current, balanced, accessible, useful, and consistent with GoodRx standards. Review sources, interpret evidence, and make recommendations when the evidence or the appropriate editorial approach is unclear.
  • Connect clinical decisions to real-world care: Translate complex clinical, medication, access, affordability, coverage, prior authorization, pharmacy, and adherence information into clear and actionable content for healthcare professionals.
  • Build for scale: Create and improve templates, standards, review processes, workflows, and documentation for planning, medical review, publication, updates, corrections, and repurposing. Lead freelance contributors or project teams when needed.
  • Lead through expertise: Serve as a trusted clinical and editorial partner to the Senior Medical Director, peer editors, and cross-functional teams. Influence decisions through expertise, sound judgment, and clear recommendations, even when you do not have formal authority.
  • Learn and adapt: Use clinician feedback, audience behavior, search data, engagement data, and content performance to improve the portfolio, refine priorities, and identify new opportunities.
  • Partner across GoodRx: Work with SEO, Product, Design, Engineering, Operations, CRM, Pharma Direct, Marketing, Video, Research, and other teams to bring HCP content and experiences to life.

What You’ll Bring :

  • Clinical credibility and HCP perspective: U.S.-trained physician (MD or DO) with at least 5 years of post-qualification clinical experience practicing in the United States. You must have a strong understanding of treatment access, affordability, insurance, prior authorization, pharmacy workflows, adherence, and other real-world barriers to care. You can translate clinical evidence, drug information, and healthcare-system complexity into clear, accurate, and actionable content for clinicians.
  • HCP editorial experience: At least 5 years of professional experience writing, editing, or medically reviewing HCP-focused medical or healthcare content. You have strong editorial judgment and experience with structural editing, line editing, copyediting, medical review, original writing, content strategy, editorial calendars, specialty coverage, or multi-format content programs.
  • Independent portfolio ownership: Experience independently leading complex editorial projects, workstreams, or content programs from planning through delivery. You can set priorities, make sound decisions with incomplete information, solve unusual or ambiguous problems, and improve the way work gets done.
  • Editorial standards and digital fluency: Strong knowledge of health literacy, accessibility, inclusive language, source evaluation, medical review, and editorial ethics. You are familiar with content management systems, digital publishing workflows, SEO, analytics, and collaborative productivity tools.
  • Strategic collaboration and influence: You communicate clearly, exercise sound judgment, and build productive relationships with senior and cross-functional partners. You can influence decisions, present recommendations, and lead through expertise without formal people-management authority.
  • Preferred experience: Newsletters, video, visual content, audience engagement, content performance optimization, healthcare journalism, medical education, digital health, or thoughtful use of AI in editorial workflows.
