Overview
Luxor Scientific is seeking a reliable and professional independent contractor to provide medical specimen transportation services for a medical office in the Cheyenne area.
This opportunity involves picking up prepared specimen packages from a designated medical office and transporting them to a predetermined shipping location. The anticipated service window is approximately four hours per weekday evening.
Important: All specimens will be packaged, labeled, and prepared for shipment by the medical office.
The contractor's responsibility is to pick up the prepared packages and deliver them to the designated shipping location.
Scope of Services
- Pick up prepared medical specimen packages from a designated medical office.
- Transport packages safely and promptly to the designated shipping location, such as UPS or FedEx.
- Maintain the security and integrity of packages while in transit.
- Follow applicable specimen-handling, transportation, and confidentiality requirements.
- Complete required pickup and delivery documentation.
- Communicate professionally with medical office staff and shipping personnel regarding pickups and deliveries.
- Provide additional pickup services when agreed upon as part of the engagement.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license.
- Reliable personal transportation suitable for the services.
- Acceptable driving record.
- Dependability and punctuality.
- Ability to safely transport packages and maintain their security.
- Professional communication and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling medical-related materials.
- Access to a smartphone for necessary communication and delivery documentation.
- Previous courier, delivery, medical, or laboratory experience is helpful but not required.
Engagement Terms
- Expected time commitment: Approximately 10–20 hours per week.
- Service window: Primarily Monday–Friday, with the main route anticipated for approximately 4:30 PM–8:30 PM.
- Mileage: Paid for eligible business mileage in accordance with the terms of the contractor agreement.
- Engagement type: Independent contractor (1099), subject to a written agreement outlining the scope of services and payment terms.
