POSITION SUMMARY

The Application Engineering Manager leads a team supporting global commercial vehicle customer programs, providing organizational and technical leadership in customer applications, turbocharger matching, engine-system optimization, product validation, and complex problem solving. The role drives customer satisfaction, program execution, business growth, resource planning, and team development. The Manager serves as the senior technical escalation point for the organization.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• •Lead, develop, and support a team of Application Engineers responsible for global customer programs.
• •Provide technical leadership in turbocharger matching, engine air-system optimization, product validation, technical risk management, and complex problem resolution.
• •Lead field investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions for customer and product issues.
• •Build strong customer relationships and serve as the senior technical escalation point.
• •Lead technical and program negotiations involving requirements, validation scope, timing, risks, changes, resources, and customer commitments.
• •Drive execution of PDP activities, customer deliverables, and program milestones through global cross-functional coordination.
• •Champion process improvements, lessons learned, and engineering efficiency initiatives.
• •Lead acquisition activities including technical strategy, feasibility assessments, forecasting, quotation assumptions, workload planning, and validation spending.
• •Manage team resources, budgets, priorities, workload, and forecasts.
• •Coach and develop team members through hiring, performance management, capability development, retention, and succession planning.
• •Drive accountability, safety, customer focus, engineering excellence, and continuous improvement.
• •Travel to customer, supplier, test, manufacturing, and company locations as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• •Engineering degree with 10+ years of experience in automotive, commercial vehicle, turbocharger, engine, air-management, or propulsion-system engineering.
• •Demonstrated expertise in commercial vehicle turbocharger applications, matching, engine-system optimization, and product validation.
• •Ability to independently review and challenge matching studies, engineering analyses, validation plans, test results, and technical recommendations.
• •Proven people leadership experience in a customer-facing global engineering environment.
• •Strong background in customer relationship management, technical negotiations, structured problem solving, and root-cause analysis.
• •Experience with resource planning, budget management, project forecasting, workload prioritization, and performance reporting.
• •Excellent communication, leadership, business judgment, and organizational skills.

PREFERRED:

• •Advanced degree in engineering, business, or a related field.
• •Commercial vehicle OEM experience supporting global customer programs.
• •Experience with engine simulation, air-system modeling, turbocharger matching tools, data analysis, CAD, and engineering lifecycle systems.
• •Experience leading supervisors, technical leads, or geographically distributed teams.
• •Flexibility to support urgent customer escalations and global collaboration.
