Our Medication Aide/Med Tech:

• •Prepares and passes medication for residents as ordered by a physician, reporting any medication errors, side effects or problems to supervisor or physician.
• •Documents administration or refusal of medication in required format and style.
• •Maintains documentation and communication log in accordance with required procedures, using electronic system when appropriate.
• •Reorders meds as needed, following appropriate protocols.
• •Following medication policies and procedures is responsible for the delivery, ordering, re-ordering, storage, documentation and destruction of medications.
• •Insures that medication is available when needed through on time refills. Orders labs as necessary.
• •Performs other duties as assigned.

What you need to succeed:

• •High school diploma or equivalent.
• •Working experience with computerized Point of Care and other systems.
• •6 months or more in long term care, home care or related field preferred.
• •Successful completion of Med Tech Training program and Medication Aide/Medication Tech certification in state, as required.
• •Minimum of six months experience in long term care, home care, or a related field.
• •Ability to speak, read, write and understand English language.
• •Current CPR/First Aid certification.
• •Successful completion of background check, drug screen, and other pre-employment testing as required by state (may include fingerprinting and/or pre-employment physical).
