About the role

At Sulzer, we specialise in rotating equipment services, helping customers improve the reliability and performance of critical assets across a wide range of industries. Our York facility is recognised as a Fabrication and Machining Centre of Excellence, benefiting from significant investment in technology, equipment and capabilities to support continued growth and customer demand.

We are looking for a Metal Spray Operator to join our specialist coatings team. What you'll be doing

Preparing customer components for coating, including cleaning, masking and blasting.

Applying thermal spray coatings using HVOF, Plasma and Wire Spray processes.

Operating semi-automatic and robotic equipment safely and efficiently.

Conducting goods-in and in-process inspections.

Reading engineering drawings and following process documentation.

Managing powders, jigs and fixtures to support production requirements.

Maintaining high standards of safety, quality and housekeeping.

Working collaboratively with colleagues to meet customer delivery and quality expectations.

What we're looking for

Essential

Engineering or manufacturing experience.

Strong focus on health, safety and quality.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable

Thermal spray experience.

Metrology experience.

Robot control experience.

Engineering qualification and/or completed apprenticeship.

Experience reading engineering drawings.

Full UK driving licence.
