Job Description:

An opportunity for a Supply Chain and Quality Manager (SCQM) has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space , Getafe (Madrid).

The selected candidate will join the Supply Chain and Quality department as part of the Composite and Metallic Detail Parts team within the Procurement Organization . Due to team expansion, this new position has been created to manage the operational relationship between Air Power and detail parts suppliers across both national and international footprints.

You will join a multicultural team with members located across different Airbus sites in Spain and Germany, operating in multi-program environments (including A400M, MRTT, L&M, EFA, Aerostructures, MRTT+, and EURODRONE). Your mission as SCQM will be to lead the End-to-End Supply Chain Operations and Quality Management and act as Supply Chain Industrial, Operations and Quality leader for all the suppliers under the applicable scope .

RESPONSIBILITIES

The jobholder will be responsible for:

  • Representing Airbus Defence and Space directly in front of national and international suppliers , acting as the primary operations, industrialization, and quality leader.
  • Participating in supplier selection (Call For Tender) by providing technical and industrial approvals, and leading the industrialization of work packages to ensure on-time, high-quality production.
  • Monitoring supplier operational performance , conducting quality audits, managing Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) deployment, and executing First Article Inspections (FAI).
  • Managing quality escapes and non-conformities by leading root cause analyses, corrective/preventative action plans, and risk & opportunities management.
  • Representing the procurement organization within Multi-Functional Teams (MFT) and in front of official authorities during assessments and audits.
  • Leading recovery plans and field-level actions when suppliers experience operational crises to minimize impact on manufacturing plants.

SKILLS

  • Education: Aeronautical Engineering degree preferred, or Industrial/Chemical Engineering degree with a strong background in industrialization.
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years of experience in Supply Chain Quality or Supply Chain Management, requiring a solid technical background in Manufacturing Engineering or Product Quality .
  • Soft skills: Strong negotiation, stakeholder management, active listening, proactive mindset, and decisive problem-solving abilities.
  • Languages: Negotiation/fluent level in both English and Spanish.
  • Technical knowledge: Expertise in APQP deployment, Quality Escapes/Non-conformity management, Root Cause Analysis, and First Article Inspection (FAI).
  • Valuable / Nice to have: Availability and willingness to travel (typically 4–5 trips per year, which may increase depending on the project and its development phase).
