NERC CIP Project Manager

Guernsey Power Station (GPS) is a $1.6 billion 1,875 MW 3x1x1 GE 7HA.02 combined cycle electric generating facility commissioned in 2023 and located in Guernsey County, OH.

The primary responsibility of the position is to provide analytical support and coordination for the NERC (North American Electric Reliability Corporation) CIP Reliability Compliance Program. In addition, the position will serve as a backup to the plant DCS (Distributed Control System) Engineer.

The Manager will work closely with facility staff, corporate NERC resources, and external regulators to maintain and improve the NERC compliance posture of Guernsey Power Station. This includes technical system support, control system security, internal audits, training, and continuous improvement of compliance programs.

Qualifications

Education

Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, three (3) years of NERC CIP Reliability Standard experience or a related discipline; equivalent relevant experienced may be considered.

Experience

• •Practical experience in power plant operations and maintenance is desired.
• •Experience with NERC Reliability Standards, electric utility regulatory compliance, cybersecurity, power generation or related fields.
• •Knowledge of network security, firewalls, remote access, Active Directory, vulnerability management, patch management, change management, anti-malware, configuration baselines, switches, routers, servers, Windows, and other security practices.
• •Experience with generating-station OT environments, including DCS, PLC, SCADA, historian, network, and industrial control systems and incident response.

Minimum Qualifications

• •Working knowledge of NERC CIP requirements and compliance concepts.
• •Ability to interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into practical operating controls and procedures.
• •Strong documentation, analytical, organizational, and project-management skills.
• •Ability to work effectively with technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
• •Ability to manage multiple recurring compliance obligations and deadlines.
• •Strong written and verbal communication skills.
