Network Engineer (BAU)

*6-Month Fixed Term Contract*

*MUST BE BASED IN PERTH, WA*

Denver Technology is a technology consultancy based in Perth, with offices in Brisbane and London. For 35 years we have worked with energy, resources and asset-intensive organisations across Australia and overseas, running projects that hold up in production. We back people who do careful work and explain it well.

We want a Network Engineer to keep client network environments running day to day. You will support and administer firewalls, secure access platforms, routing, switching and wireless, keeping each environment stable, secure and performing. The work is business-as-usual support: configuration, incident response, remediation and proactive improvement, delivered to each client’s standards and service management processes. You will work alongside client teams and Denver’s delivery team. The role carries a shared on-call rotation for after-hours cover; most work is during business hours.

What we offer

Competitive Salaries: Employees can expect competitive and benchmarked salaries, ensuring fair compensation for their skills and contributions.

Training and Certification Budgets: We invest in the professional growth of our people by allocating budgets for training and certification.

Employee Assistance Programme: An Employee Assistance Programme is in place to support the well-being and mental health of employees.

Active Social Club and Social Events: We foster a vibrant social culture with an active social club.

Regular Celebrations: We take pride in acknowledging and celebrating both our achievements and our people.

What you'll do

Support and administer Palo Alto firewalls day to day.

Configure and manage Palo Alto SASE, Prisma Access and SCM.

Support and administer Cisco routers, Layer 2/3 switches, and wireless LAN controllers and access points.

Provide proactive support across network domains: spot risks, improve configurations and support optimisation.

Work within client ITSM, incident, escalation and change processes, and deliver to agreed SLAs.

Review logs, apply changes through agreed change control, and support operational handover.

Join team ideation and planning sessions, and explain risk and options to technical and non-technical people.

What you need

At least five years as a Network Engineer, Network Administrator or similar operational role.

An IT qualification (Certificate IV, Diploma, degree) or equivalent experience.

Strong experience with Palo Alto firewalls, and Prisma Access or SASE.

Strong experience with Cisco routing, Layer 2/3 switching and wireless LAN.

Experience working within ITSM, incident, escalation and change management.

Clear writing and attention to detail.

Australian citizen or permanent resident.

Nice to have

Palo Alto (PCNSA or PCNSE) or Cisco (CCNA or CCNP) certification.

Network monitoring and logging experience.

Secure remote access, firewall rules, routing and switching across multiple sites.

Mining, resources or industrial experience, and exposure to IT/OT or segmented networks.
