Job Description:
Please take this opportunity to join one of GDIT’s fastest long-standing growing programs! US Battlefield Information Collection and Exploitation System eXtended (US BICES-X) is a cutting-edge program supporting DoW intelligence information sharing on current and emerging global threats to mission and coalition partners and emerging nations. With an internationally dispersed team supporting each combatant command, the US BICES-X team is in direct support of the war fighter and their missions. We are seeking a creative and driven professional with a passion for solving real world challenges on a cross-functional, fast paced team.
Responsibilities:
- Provides advice and training to end-users and less-experienced network personnel
- Identifies, analyzes, and resolves network incidents and problems.
- Provides network/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance.
- Determines network specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.
- Knowledge of the associated hardware, software, and equipment associated with USBICES.
- Participates in special projects as assigned.
- Analyzes, administers and maintains voice, video, and/or data communications networks.
- Manages the usage and performance of voice, video and/or data communications networks
- Maintains network to meet Enterprise Service Availability and Service Level Agreement requirements.
- Utilizes IT Service Management (ITSM) Principles to identify, categorize, prioritize, escalate, troubleshoot, and resolve incidents.
- Maintains network security and ensures compliance with security policies and procedures.
- Participates in the development and implementation of network-related procedures and standards.
- Interfaces with vendors to ensure appropriate resolution during network outages or periods of reduced performance.
- Assists with development of third-party monitoring actions and procedures for network infrastructure..
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of directly related experience in network engineering.
- BA/BS in related field, additional experience may substitute for degree
- Must possess and maintain a TOP SECRET clearance with SCI Eligibility.
- This position is deemed a DoW IA Workforce, IAT Level II position and requires 8570/8140 compliance. A candidate must meet the following requirements:
- CCNA Security. Higher certifications such as CCNP Security, or CISSP are acceptable.
- Must have comprehensive knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in network analysis and design.
- Must have comprehensive knowledge of Cisco routers, switches, patch panels, concentrators, associated terminals, and related network hardware and software.
- Must have comprehensive knowledge of desktop operating systems and applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Juniper route/switch knowledge is preferred.
- Knowledge and experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting type-1 encryptors.
- Knowledge and experience with CUCM and VOIP administration.
The likely salary range for this position is $108,800 - $147,200. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
