Job Sammary

The IoT Core Network Support Engineer monitors daily network operations and handles partner and customer cases. This role involves troubleshooting network issues and providing advanced support for technologies like BGP, OSPF, MPLS/VPLS, VPN, and more. Reporting to the Network Operations Manager, this position ensures network reliability and contributes to business objectives, with opportunities for collaboration and growth.

Objectives & Responsibilities

• •Monitor daily network operations and respond proactively to events reported by monitoring tools.
• •Investigate IP network issues, manage trouble tickets and provide advanced troubleshooting across BGP, OSPF, MPLS/VPLS, VPN and IP multicast environments.
• •Respond to system and network incidents and participate in root-cause analysis involving network and application issues.
• •Work closely with the IoT Core Network Engineering team to resolve technical issues and improve network reliability.
• •Maintain and update documentation for enterprise and ISP network environments.
• •Maintain syslog capabilities used to track network events and changes, support troubleshooting and inform root-cause analysis.
• •Support Cisco and Juniper platform upgrades.
• •Coordinate with vendors, contractors, service providers and integrators.
• •Provide timely updates to customer support teams and engineering stakeholders during outages or service impact.
• •Participate in an off-hours on-call rotation when required.

Requirements

Requirements & Qualifications

• •Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering or another relevant engineering field, with 4 or more years of professional experience.
• •Practical knowledge of IP networking concepts and troubleshooting, including routing, switching and IoT network environments.
• •Knowledge of cellular technologies including GSM/UMTS, LTE, VoLTE and 5G.
• •Experience in network support, operations, performance analysis or field support within a telecom operator or a large telecommunications vendor.
• •Experience investigating complex incidents and communicating status across multiple technical and customer-facing teams.
• •Strong interpersonal and customer-service skills, with a clear and structured communication style.
• •Solid problem-solving skills, strong organization and the ability to manage an individual workload effectively.
• •A self-starting, collaborative approach and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
