The Opportunity
Join Telstra's Transmission Operations team and play a key role in keeping our network running reliably for customers across Australia. You'll provide technical leadership during complex network incidents, drive operational improvements, and help build the capability of the wider team.
This is a permanent full-time, 24x7 shift role based in Clayton, Melbourne.

What you'll do
- Lead the technical response to complex network incidents and act as the senior escalation point for fault investigation and service restoration.
- Support major incidents, coordinate technical teams and vendors, and provide clear communications to stakeholders during service disruptions.
- Identify opportunities to improve network performance, processes, tools and automation through incident reviews and trend analysis.
- Monitor service performance, KPIs and customer impacts, taking proactive action to reduce risks and improve outcomes.
- Mentor team members, share technical knowledge and support training and capability development across the transmission operations team.
About you
- Experience in telecommunications or IT operations, ideally within transmission networks, network operations or incident management environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and decisive during critical incidents.
- Knowledge of ITIL incident management practices and service operations.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- A technical qualification in Engineering, IT or Telecommunications, or equivalent industry experience.
