Team Lead - Network Services

Join our Infrastructure Services team and lead a group of highly skilled Network Services professionals, including senior and principal engineers, delivering critical infrastructure services, projects, and strategic initiatives that support the Bank's technology landscape.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced technical leader who is passionate about developing people, building capability, and driving operational excellence. While your primary focus will be people leadership, team development, stakeholder engagement, and business outcomes, you will maintain strong technical credibility and be prepared to step in and support the team on complex technical challenges when required.

As the Team Lead, you will:

  • Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team of Network Services professionals, including senior and principal engineers.
  • Foster a collaborative, customer-focused culture that delivers reliable, secure, and operationally ready infrastructure services.
  • Partner with Principal Engineers and technical leaders to shape network strategy, engineering standards, roadmaps, and technology direction.
  • Build and grow team capability through mentoring, succession planning, workforce planning, and professional development.
  • Drive modern engineering practices, network automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), DevOps, and continuous improvement initiatives across the team.
  • Balance operational support, project delivery, and strategic initiatives to ensure successful business outcomes.
  • Participate in and sponsor proof-of-concepts and emerging technology initiatives, including SD-WAN, ACI, NSX, SDA, network automation, IaC, cloud networking, and DevOps practices.
  • Lead major incidents, technical escalations, and complex problem-solving activities when required.
  • Manage people, recruitment, vendor relationships, contracts, workforce planning, and commercial responsibilities.
  • Work closely with stakeholders across Technology and the business to align priorities and deliver enterprise outcomes.
  • Support the evolution of agile delivery models, including Scrum, CI/CD, DevOps, and platform-based operating models.
  • Be prepared to roll up your sleeves and contribute to architecture, design reviews, troubleshooting, automation, and technical delivery activities when needed.

Your background

You will bring a strong combination of technical expertise, leadership capability, and a passion for developing people.

Ideally, you will have:

  • Extensive experience leading Network Engineering, Infrastructure, Platform, or DevOps teams within complex enterprise environments.
  • Deep technical knowledge of enterprise networking, including Cisco technologies, firewalls, load balancing platforms such as F5, and modern network infrastructure solutions.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Network Automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and DevOps practices.
  • Proven experience with technologies and tools such as Ansible, Python, Git, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code frameworks, and automation platforms .
  • Demonstrated experience driving automation and improving operational efficiency through software-defined and programmable infrastructure.
  • Proven experience providing technical leadership across network design, architecture, implementation, security hardening, automation, and operational support.
  • Demonstrated success in coaching, mentoring, and developing high-performing technical teams, including senior engineers and principal engineers.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience managing operational services, project delivery, vendors, contracts, recruitment, and workforce planning.
  • A solid understanding of ITIL disciplines, including Incident, Problem, Change, and Capacity Management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop standards, procedures, technical documentation, business cases, and strategic recommendations.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, DevNet, or equivalent.
