Field Safety Representative

Every crew deserves to go home safe. As our Field Safety Representative, you'll be the person who makes that happen across our underground electrical construction, right-of-way clearing, utility inspection and locating projects.

This is not a desk job. You'll spend your days on active job sites: auditing work, coaching crews, training new hires and helping foremen build safety plans that actually work in the field. If you know OSHA 1926, enjoy teaching, and want a role where your work directly protects people, we want to talk to you.

What You'll Do

Conduct regular safety audits and inspections on underground construction and right-of-way clearing sites

Spot hazards before they become incidents and recommend corrective actions

Make sure our work meets OSHA, DOT and industry safety standards

Partner with foremen and supervisors on job-specific safety plans and tailgate talks

Help train field crews on PPE, trenching and excavation, confined space, lockout/tagout, energized work and vegetation management

Lead safety onboarding for new hires and verify field competency before they deploy

Respond on-site to emergencies and incidents

Prepare safety reports and documentation for internal teams and clients

Act as the link between field crews and management on safety concerns, and help keep improving our safety culture and training

Required

3+ years of construction safety experience, ideally in underground utilities or line clearance

Working knowledge of OSHA 1926, DOT regulations and utility safety practices

Strong communication, organization and problem-solving skills

Comfort with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Valid driver's license

Certifications you'll obtain and maintain (already holding them is a plus)

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

OSHA 30-Hour for General Industry and Construction

First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor Certification

FDOT Temporary Traffic Control Intermediate Certification

We consider an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

What the Job Involves

This is a field-based role with daily travel to active job sites. Please review these requirements before applying:

Working outdoors year-round in heat, cold, rain, humidity and wind; Walking and standing for long periods on rugged, wooded, roadside and uneven terrain

Frequent climbing, kneeling, crouching and crawling to inspect trenches, manholes, vaults and overhead line areas

Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs unassisted (safety gear, cones, signage, first aid kits)

Working near energized electrical systems, excavations, traffic and heavy equipment such as excavators, bucket trucks, boring machines and chainsaws

Exposure to noise, dust, mud, insects and hazardous plants or animals during right-of-way clearing

Wearing full PPE as required, including FR clothing, hard hat, hi-vis vest, safety glasses, gloves, hearing and respiratory protection

Responding quickly in high-stress situations such as incidents, utility strikes and emergencies, including reaching remote sites and confined or elevated spaces

Benefits

We offer a full benefits package, including medical, dental, vision and life insurance, a 401(k) with company match, and paid time off (PTO).
