- APPs continue to advance the mission of MGBCI by standing together as one team against cancer. APPs care for patients at all phases of their cancer journey and in many settings. They remain critical partners in ensuring access to care and support at all levels of need. APPs care for patients in ambulatory and inpatient settings. As core members of the multidisciplinary team for decades, the APP teams are key in supporting access, care delivery, and innovation associated with growth across our expanding programs and new spaces.
Join a supportive Advanced Practice Team in a role supporting the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center in Boston, MA! This team has a demonstrated history of providing exquisite, evidence-based patient care. This is a fantastic opportunity for an Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) to work in this invigorating and collaborative environment.
The Ambulatory Cancer Center APP will provide direct patient care. With an interdisciplinary team approach, this provider will promote a collaborative relationship between providers, professional nurses, and administrative staff, to ensure continuity of patient care in the management of their disease and related issues as well as to develop expertise in these fields.
Within this role, the advanced practice provider will be responsible for a panel of patients. Other responsibilities include caring for patients throughout their continuum of care and fostering collaboration with other professionals within the hospital and clinics to facilitate patient care.

- The APP is responsible for the assessment and management of patients, including diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, development of appropriate plans of care and ongoing evaluation. The APP provides direct care, counseling, and teaching to this patient population in the ambulatory setting.
- Performs complete histories and physical examinations
- Orders, interprets, and evaluates appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests
- Develops appropriate plans of care and follow-up based on the outcomes of diagnostic, laboratory, and physical examination findings
- Consistently provides high quality and timely documentation
- Performs bedside procedures as are appropriate to the patient population
- Orders medications and writes prescriptions according to organizational and regulatory policies and procedures
- Ideal Candidate will have:
- 2 Years Advanced Practice experience preferred
- Prior oncology experience preferred.
- Proficiency with Epic and EMRs preferred.
- Familiarity with clinical trials preferred.
- Summary
- The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a licensed provider. The NP is responsible for the assessment and management of various populations of patients, medical and/or surgical, including diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, development of appropriate plans of care and ongoing evaluation.

- -Performs bedside procedures as are appropriate to the patient population
- -Orders medications and writes prescriptions according to organizational and regulatory policies and procedures
