Summary

Job Description

Varex Imaging is a global technology leader in X-ray imaging, developing advanced solutions used in medical diagnostics, industrial inspection, and security systems. With a strong international presence and high-tech product portfolio, we’re pushing the boundaries of what's possible in imaging.

Varex Imaging is the world’s leading supplier of Photon Counting Detectors, and we are hiring more resources due to expanding portfolio and growing volumes.

We are now looking for an NPI Engineer to strengthen our Manufacturing Transfer team and help turn new product designs into robust, production-ready manufacturing processes. You will work at the interface between R&D, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality, ensuring that new products and product changes can be successfully introduced into production.

In this role, you will coordinate and execute defined NPI and transfer-to-production projects, taking ownership of the manufacturing readiness activities needed to move a product from development into production. This includes working closely with engineering teams to understand product requirements, identifying manufacturing needs and risks, coordinating the introduction of new processes, equipment and materials, and ensuring that the required manufacturing documentation and product data are in place.

A key part of the role is also developing how we work. We are looking for someone who can identify gaps in our current manufacturing transfer processes, bring structure to them, and help create more consistent and efficient ways of transferring products from development into production.

In practice, your work may include:

· Coordinating manufacturing activities within NPI and transfer projects

· Driving manufacturing readiness from prototype builds through pilot production and production release

· Working with R&D to ensure that products are designed with manufacturability, assembly and testability in mind

· Identifying manufacturing risks, open issues and dependencies early and driving them toward resolution

· Coordinating the introduction of new manufacturing processes, tools, fixtures, equipment and materials

· Supporting prototype and pilot builds and turning lessons learned into improvements before production ramp-up

· Creating and maintaining manufacturing documentation, work instructions, BOM-related information and other production data

· Evaluating and implementing engineering changes from a manufacturing perspective

· Working closely with manufacturing, R&D, quality, sourcing and supply chain

· Supporting problem solving when manufacturing or product issues arise during introduction

· Improving our NPI, manufacturing transfer and change-management processes so that future product introductions become more predictable, efficient and repeatable

About you

  • BSc or MSc in Engineering or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience in NPI, manufacturing, production or product development.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes, manufacturability and product structures.
  • Experience with ERP/PDM systems; SAP is a strong advantage.
  • Experience with engineering changes, technical projects and manufacturing risk management (PFMEA).
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001/13485 and process validation is an advantage.
  • Hands-on, problem-solving mindset with strong ownership and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills in English and Finnish
