Broughton Hospital is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Nurse Supervisor I to join our Treatment Mall leadership team! - Lead and inspire nursing teams with a professional, compassionate approach
- Ensure top-tier patient care through continuous supervision and support
- Manage staffing levels and coordinate coverage to meet clinical needs
- Mentor, coach, and develop nursing staff for career growth and success
- Serve as a trusted resource on policies, standards, and best practices
- Promote strong communication across physicians, management, staff, families, and external partners
- Identify care delivery challenges and develop effective solutions
- Support quality improvement initiatives throughout the Treatment Mall

- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
- (With flexibility for training and hospital needs.)
Essential Position: Reliability during all-weather events is mandatory.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences
Salary Range: $71,698.00 - $118,304.00
Recruitment Range: $71,698.00 - $118,304.00
*A Sign-On Bonus of $10,000.00 may be offered to the successful applicant(s) of this posting, contingent on Budget Approval.

The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/Management Preferences are not required.
Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:
- Demonstrated general knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations governing health care practices and standards of accrediting bodies; such as Joint Commission, CMS, etc.
- Documented working knowledge of supervisory practices and skill in supervising others, including communication
- Demonstrated ability to independently implement the nursing process (assess, plan, implement, and evaluate) to meet patient needs as it relates to patient care, staff assignments, and delegation through guidance from policies, procedures, and protocols
This position is designated as mandatory and must report or stay over during adverse weather events.
Usual Work Hours: Monday - Friday 7:30 A - 4:30 P
Flexibility is required for education and training purposes and to meet the needs of the facility.
*ELIGIBILITY FOR SIGN-ON BONUS
To qualify for the Sign-On Bonus, a newly hired permanent full-time or permanent part-time employee must work 30 to 40 hours per week to be eligible. Those who are eligible and working less than 40 hours a week will receive a pro-rated rate.
An employee is NOT eligible for a Sign-On Bonus if:
- The employee has held a position in the North Carolina State government, including the judicial system, or the University of North Carolina system, within the last 12 months (the employee shall remain ineligible for 12 months from the separation date).
- The employee has previously received a Sign-On Bonus from any State agency.
- DHHS has paid any contract placement or recruitment fees.

ABOUT THE FACILIITY:
Broughton Hospital is one of the three regional psychiatric hospitals with statutory responsibility for operating as part of the Division of State Operated Healthcare Facilities (DSOHF). With the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, we provide help and support to North Carolinians, and their families, experiencing mental illness. Our hospital serves the western thirty-seven (37) counties of North Carolina, as part of the state's system of care and treatment for persons with mental illness.

- DHHS uses the Merit-Based Recruitment and Selection Plan to fill positions with the most qualified individuals. Hiring salary will be based on relevant qualifications, internal equity, and budgetary considerations pertinent to the advertised position.
