Green Ivy Schools is hiring Substitute Preschool Teachers to work as on-call subs for the 2026–2027 school year.

Pine Street School, located at 25 Pine Street and 156 William, is just a short walk from the iconic landmarks of Wall Street, the New York Stock Exchange, and Federal Hall. Our Preschool offers Spanish and Mandarin immersion for children from one year old through Junior Kindergarten. Montessori-trained educators nurture each child's social, emotional, cognitive, academic, and physical development, promoting independence, curiosity, and problem-solving skills. Starting in Preschool Threes, students engage with the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme, which encourages them to ask questions, think critically, explore in-depth inquiries, and develop a well-rounded understanding of the world.

ABOUT YOU

• •You are knowledgeable about the Montessori and/or IB curriculum and philosophy and are able to successfully employ effective teaching practices. If you are not Montessori and/or IB credentialed, you are willing and eager to learn about it.
• •You enjoy collaborating with fellow teachers and are willing to heed direction and feedback from them
• •You are dedicated to internationalism and anti-bias teaching practices and maintain a positive school culture for everyone in the community
• •You have exceptional communication skills with young children and teachers and have a nurturing, supportive approach
• •You are trustworthy, flexible, and dependable

ROLE OF THE SUBSTITUTE PRESCHOOL TEACHER

• •Create welcoming, functional, safe, attractive, de-cluttered, stimulating and physically comfortable learning environments
• •May assist children during bathroom or hygiene-related activities
• •Work with and follow the team's guidelines with regards to classroom schedule, activities, and norms
• •Step in for teachers that are absent and follow the guidance of the other teachers in the classroom or of the Substitute Coordinator

Requirements

• •Montessori and/or IB teaching experience preferred
• •Education: Bachelors Degree in Education or a related field (Masters preferred)
• •Experience: Minimum of two (2) years teaching experience
• •Fluent in English (able to successfully attend workshops, read professional information and work collaboratively in the language.)
• •Legally authorized to work now and in the future in the United States

Salary Description

$25 per hour
