Under the direction and supervision of licensed personnel, the Operating Room Assistant II assists in providing direct patient care and tasks required for daily unit functions.

Job Description

Minimum Training and Education:

At least 1 year work experience in a .6 fte Operating Room Assistant II position at MUSC CHS or 1 year of patient care work experience in a healthcare facility; or a college degree, or active enrollment in nursing school with completion of Nursing Fundamentals from an accredited institution; or active enrollment in a healthcare related field from an accredited institution; or a Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant, or equivalent training.

Required Credentials :

Basic Life Support required within 2 weeks of hire . Thereafter, must maintain. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.

*****May require working irregular hours, rotating shifts and weekends.

*****Monday - Friday 4 / 10 hour shifts, 2 pm - 10 pm

*****Holiday Call and Disaster Teams
