Position Summary

The Operations & Maintenance Utility Worker is a flexible, hands-on team member that is responsible for supporting operations and maintenance. Depending on daily needs, the position will help mechanics service trucks and equipment, keep the yard and facility clean and safe, and fill in on operational tasks so routes and container deliveries run on schedule.

This role requires adherence to all safety protocols and regulations and the ability to perform physical tasks. The ideal candidate will have a clean driving record. This role suits someone who likes variety, works well with a team, and wants a path into operations or maintenance careers.

Responsibilities

• •Stage, sort, and deliver dumpsters/portables and materials as directed
• •Pick up office and shop supplies or parts as needed
• •Assist with facility maintenance such as minor repairs, lighting, fencing, and signage
• •Perform general custodial duties in the shop, break rooms, restrooms, and offices
• •Keep the yard and facility clean, including litter pickup, sweeping, and debris removal
• •Fill in on operational tasks, such as delivering portables or assisting on route, when staffing requires
• •Assist technicians as needed with preventive maintenance on trucks, containers, and equipment, including fluid checks, greasing, tire checks, and basic part replacement
• •Wash and pressure-wash trucks, equipment, and containers to keep them in service-ready condition
• •Move parts, tools, and supplies, and keep the shop, bays, and tool areas organized.
• •Perform basic container repair, painting, and labeling.
• •Report equipment defects, leaks, or damage to the maintenance lead promptly
• •Follow all company safety protocols and requirements.
• •Maintain a clean and safe vehicle at all times.
• •Participates and cooperates in all scheduled training, briefings, and meetings as required
• •Assist with other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Role Expectations

• •Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, pulling, pushing and securing heavy loads
• •Follow all safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and PPE requirements
• •Work outdoors in all weather conditions and around noise, dust, odors, and moving equipment
• •Work independently, earn a reputation as a trusted team member who will always do the right thing, and communicate proactively
• •Handle and store fluids, chemicals, and waste materials according to environmental regulations
• •Be a brand ambassador for Greenmark, driving a culture of excellence and true partnership with team members and external stakeholders

Requirements

Education and Experience

• •Education: High school diploma or GED preferred, but none required
• •Experience in general labor, custodial, shop, warehouse, or facility maintenance work

Qualifications:

• •Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record is required.
• •Successfully complete pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check, which will include pevious employment check, and motor vehicle record review.
• •Ability to read, write, comprehend and communicate in English.
• •Ability to work with electronic devices (i.e., tablets and computers) to perform daily assigned tasks.
• •Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays.
