Operations Manager – Tomago, NSW

Job Description / The Role –

Lead critical transport operations. Drive safety excellence. Deliver operational performance.

Toll Security Sensitive Transport is seeking an experienced Operations Manager - Transport to lead our transport operations from our Major Hazard Facility in Tomago, NSW. Reporting to the Branch Manager, you'll play a key leadership role overseeing transport operations, fleet utilisation, compliance, safety, customer service, and team performance supporting the safe movement of ammonium nitrate products.

This is an opportunity for a proven transport leader who thrives in a safety-critical environment and enjoys leading teams, driving operational excellence, and building strong customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities, but not limited to -

Lead and manage daily transport operations, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient service delivery.

Provide visible leadership to transport supervisors, allocators, drivers, and subcontractors.

Drive a strong safety culture across a Major Hazard Facility environment.

Optimise fleet utilisation, resource planning, and operational performance.

Manage customer service delivery and contractual obligations, including SLA performance.

Monitor costs, resource allocation, and operational efficiencies.

Lead audits, investigations, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Develop, coach, and support team members to achieve operational and safety objectives.

What We’re Looking for to Drive Success –

Significant experience leading transport or logistics operations.

Strong knowledge of transport compliance, CoR, Dangerous Goods, and Load Restraint requirements.

Knowledge of the SSAN transport requirements.

A proven track record of driving safety, operational performance, and customer outcomes.

Strong leadership, coaching, and stakeholder management skills.

Experience managing operational budgets, KPIs, and service delivery performance.

Excellent problem-solving, planning, and communication skills.
