OPS Non-Student Classroom Teacher Assistant, NCEF Early Childhood Development Center

Job Summary

The OPS Non-Student Classroom Teacher Assistant assists staff in the classroom with duties such as general cleaning of the classroom, washing dishes, doing laundry, cleaning the playground and other areas of the center as assigned along with assisting with classroom activities with the children after completion of the required training.

Job Description

Typical duties include, but not limited to:

• •Assists Teachers to ensure the safety and welfare of infants, toddlers, and preschool children.
• •Ensures a clean, orderly, and healthy environment for the center including but not limited to washing dishes and doing laundry and cleaning the playground and classrooms.
• •Collaborate with teachers to create a nurturing and supportive learning environment that fosters the physical, emotional, and cognitive development of children.
• •Follow center policies and procedures, including health and safety protocols, to ensure compliance and minimize risks to children and staff.

Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Additional Job Description

Minimum qualifications

• •High school diploma or equivalent required
• •Must complete 45 DCF training hours within 90 days of hire.
• •Must complete 1-hour DCF Safe Sleep Practices for Child Care within 30 days
• •Must complete 5-hour DCF Child care Personnel Orientation Course within 7 days or 1 hour Universal Precautions/Exposure Training with director.
• •Must complete Infant/adult CPR and first Aid within 90 days.
• •Must complete 5-minute Fire Extinguisher Training by the first day.

Preferred qualifications

Experience operating a personal computer and proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
