OR Attendant - Days

Job Summary

Position responsible for preparing patients and the environment prior to surgery for the medical and nursing team.

• **OR Attendant - Monday through Friday 7:00 am - 3:00 pm
• **Call required 1 - 2 times a month
• **BLS preferred
• **Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
• **Will be responsible for maintenance of the Operating Room (OR) and assisting nurses with basic OR functions.
• **This position is located at The Woodlands Hospital.

Job Description

Minimum Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred

Licenses/Certifications ( None)

Experience / Knowledge / Skills:

Ability to follow oral and written instructions and read and write English

Ability to perform duties requiring standing, walking, stooping, bending and lifting up to 50 pounds

Principal Accountabilities

Assists with physical preparation of patient and physical environment prior to surgery according to the age/needs of the patient/population served; transports and transfers patients as necessary.

Functions as a porter between departments ensuring required medical supplies, information, specimens, and products are delivered in a timely fashion

Ensures safe care to patients adhering to policies, procedures, and standards of care, within budgetary specifications, including time management, supply management, and accuracy of practice.

Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education, skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as a resource to less experienced staff.
