Description:

What You Will Do:

Assist the surgical team in Endoscopy by preparing operating rooms and supporting procedures under the supervision of the circulating nurse

• •Verify correct surgical site, assist with patient transport as needed, and prepare the pre‑operative site
• •Review OR schedules, note changes to procedures, and gather required equipment, instruments, and supplies based on surgeon preference cards
• •Perform surgical scrub, don sterile gown and gloves, and participate in opening and maintaining the sterile field
• •Instrument surgical cases, pass instruments to surgeons, and anticipate needs to support uninterrupted procedures
• •Perform sponge, sharps, and instrument counts in accordance with policy
• •Assist with prepping and draping patients and gowning and gloving surgical team members
• •Prepare sterile dressings and ensure all equipment is functioning properly, reporting any malfunctions, and more.

Schedule:

• •Full-time; 40 hours per week
• •Shift: Days (6:30am - 3:00pm)
• •On call every 4th weekend

Minimum Qualifications:

• •Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology; completion of surgical tech apprenticeship or military program; graduate of an LPN program with Surgical experience; or equivalent experience to demonstrate competency.
• •CST certification preferred but not required in Iowa.
• •LPN license required if graduate of LPN program.
• •No prior experience required.
• •Previous endo/GI experience preferred.
