Ortho/Cast Technician - Orthopedic Center

Overview:

Schedule: Monday-Friday (Day Shift)

No weekends, holidays, or on-call requirements.

Job Description Summary:

Assists the Orthopedic Physicians in the examination, treatment, and follow-up care of patients with orthopedic conditions.

Essential Functions:

• •Prepares patients for orthopedic procedures by explaining the process and ensuring their comfort during the procedure.
• •Applies and removes casts, splints, and braces as directed by the physician.
• •Assists physicians in the reduction of fractures and dislocations.
• •Orders and maintains inventory of orthopedic supplies and equipment.
• •Cleans and sterilizes equipment and instruments to ensure patient safety.
• •Maintains accurate patient records and ensures that they are up-to-date.

Education Requirement:

High School Diploma or equivalent, required.

Certifications:

Certification from a Medical Assisting Program, Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) , or equivalent, preferred.

Skills:

Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Experience:

• •One year previous healthcare experience, preferred.
• •Experience as Orthopedic Cast Tech, Suture Tech, or EMT, preferred.
